Calculate in advance and master them by choosing the appropriate rope strength or tie rods and foundations.

The snow support elements can be made of wood or metal (preferably steel or aluminum). The tension members can be wires or ropes (preferably steel wire ropes), which are formed into loops at the ends with the aid of rope clamps, thimbles or splices in order to be able to attach them to the tie rods.

The tension elements 7 and 8 are expediently attached to the snow support elements 9, 12 and 14 in such a way that they grip approximately the center of gravity of the vertical walls or grids in order to prevent tipping. Furthermore, the pulling element is captured in such a way that the snow support elements can neither rise or fall in the vertical direction nor slide along the pulling elements.

The avalanche barriers according to the invention can be used against both dry and wet snow avalanches, in which latter case the tension elements themselves are also used to support the snow.

Special advantages of this avalanche barrier are the easy transport, the quick assembly and the mobility, if z. B. experience teaches that the snow support element could be more effective at a different location.

    PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Avalanche barriers, characterized in that the snow support elements are set up movably on the ground on sled runners or on rollers and are held by tension elements approximately in the centroid of the walls which are approximately perpendicular to the ground.

Claims (1)

2. Avalanche barriers according to claim 1, characterized in that the tension elements are anchored uphill or sideways by the snow support elements. 3. 3. Avalanche barriers according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the tension elements are arranged so that the transverse load ratio between rope tension and snow thrust is not greater than five.
