<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

EMI1.1
The invention relates to a push-through socket for tubular fluorescent lamps, the socket housing of which, for screwless attachment to the luminaire body on the rear wall of the housing, has a projection that extends over the boundary edge of the insertion opening of the luminaire body when the insertion depth is reached, and on the housing end wall in a forwardly open recess with a boundary edge of the insertion opening at the end supporting and the socket pressing against the rear boundary edge and is provided on the lamp body in front of the socket from below supporting and a tilting movement of the socket in the direction of the lamp spring.
The known sockets of this type are clamped and supported by separate means.
In contrast, the invention consists in the fact that the spring is fastened with one end inside the recess and is provided with a part protruding from the housing front wall and supported by a locking notch on the front-side boundary edge, at the free, resilient end of which a part pointing in the direction of the lamp is provided is formed on the lamp body in front of the socket from below supporting, V-shaped angled extension. Through this design of the spring and its attachment of one leg end to the socket housing, it acts as a single lever which simultaneously fulfills the function of clamping and supporting the socket on the lamp body.
The invention also consists in that the spring is fastened within the recess on a projection and that it extends, including the fastening element which preferably holds the housing parts of a two-part socket housing together, to the end face of the socket housing. According to the invention, it is also possible that the end of the spring fastened to the socket housing has a resilient curvature directed towards the head of the fastening member. Finally, the invention also consists in that the rear wall of the housing of the socket is provided with a step-shaped projection extending over the entire part inserted through the lamp body.
The invention is shown in the drawing in several figures. 1 shows the push-through socket in a position fastened to the mounting plate of the lamp, partly in section, FIG. 2 shows the push-through socket during insertion into this fastening position, partly in section, FIG. 3 is a top view of the push-through socket and FIG by the fastening arrangement of the leaf spring strip on the socket housing in an enlarged view.
The through socket consists of the socket body 1 with the forwardly protruding socket base la and the rear wall 5. In a forwardly open recess 1b of the socket body 1 intended for insertion, a leaf spring strip 11 is attached to a projection 1h. The leaf spring strip 11 is arranged in such a way that its fastening end 11c, including a fastening member 12 holding it on the socket body 1, 5, reaches up to the end face of the socket body 1.
The leaf spring strip 11 occurs with its holder of the through-

Notch 11b provided. During the process of inserting the socket through the insertion opening of the mounting plate 6, the leaf spring strip 11 recedes into the forwardly open recess Ib of the socket body 1, whereby it is eliminated as an obstacle to insertion.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
A V-shaped angled extension 11e pointing in the direction of the tube lamp is formed directly on the free, resilient end 11a of the leaf spring strip 11 in the region of the socket base la. This extension 11e exerts a resilient tilting movement of the socket in a known manner to compensate for tolerances in the lamp length.
The end 11 serving to fasten the leaf spring strip 11 to the fitting body 1 has a resilient curvature which is directed against the head of the fastening member 12 (FIG. 4).
Appropriately, with the fastening member 12 holding the leaf spring strip 11 on the socket body 1, a socket body formed in two parts from the socket front part 1 and rear wall 5 is simultaneously held together.
The rear wall 5 of the socket body is stepped off in such a way that the part which is not inserted through the mounting plate 6 has a shoulder 5g opposite the part which has been inserted through. As a result, after the socket body 1, 5 has been pushed through the insertion opening of the mounting plate 6 from the flank delimiting the recess 5g, after it has been latched onto the mounting plate.
As shown in FIG. 1, the push-through socket can also be provided with a starter socket 9 for receiving a starter 10.
As can be seen in particular from the drawing, the invention achieves a leaf spring that is easy to manufacture and requires little material expenditure as a fastening element for secure and proper fastening of a push-through socket to a lamp housing for fluorescent tube lamps. As a result of the leaf spring protruding far from the end face of the socket body, a secure attachment is also ensured with through openings of different sizes.
