Device for soundproofing in vacuum cleaners
The invention relates to a device for soundproofing in vacuum cleaners, consisting of a plate-shaped labyrinth piece made of foam, rubber or the like, which is inserted into the housing cover on the motor side.
In the case of vacuum cleaners in the form of hand-held vacuum cleaners, pot or sleigh vacuum cleaners, there is the disadvantage that the motor with the suction unit causes considerable noise during operation. These noises not only have an unpleasant effect on those who operate the device, but also on the environment.
Noise measurements on vacuum cleaners are only to be regarded as relative values, the comparison of which alone is not a standard. The absolute values of the volume are so dependent on the environment and other factors that they are not a reliable quality mark with regard to the volume for the individual vacuum cleaner. The "Phon" value only reproduces the volume of the tone at 1000 Hz. Noises of other frequencies are not recorded, so that the individually perceiving human ear often perceives noises as more unpleasant, although the phon values prove the "opposite".
A number of means have become known in order to carry out soundproofing in vacuum cleaners.
One means is, for example, to coat the inside of the housing wall with sound absorbing means, both the motor and the space of the suction unit. A second means is to glue the inside of the housing wall with a foam. This applies both to the motor and to the area of the suction unit.
Further attempts are being made to use felt instead of foam. Furthermore, it is also known to arrange filters or the like made of noise-absorbing material, such as hair yarn, asbestos or the like, for noise dampening.
When using damping means in the form of previously unknown foam parts or the like, the question arises as to which parts are to be damped within the vacuum cleaner. It should be considered whether the suction or pressure side should be dampened to the same degree or whether the suction or pressure side should be damped differently. There is also the question of the damping of the suction unit and the driving motor.
The lining of the housing has advantages, but these are not sufficient since the main sources of sound, i. H. the air outlet, which is only marginally influenced.
The object of the present invention now aims to improve or completely eliminate the previous disadvantages. For this purpose, the device consists in the fact that the labyrinth piece is designed with a smooth surface on the side facing the engine and on the side facing the outlet opening has incorporated air ducts, which are delimited from one another by remaining ribs, the air ducts from the plate edge to the the section of the plate facing the outlet opening extend radially.
An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing; 1 shows a section through the vacuum cleaner housing, FIG. 2 shows a top view of the shaped labyrinth piece in the direction of the air flow path from the suction to the pressure side, FIG. 3 shows a rear view of the shaped labyrinth piece with the air channels according to FIGS. 2 and 4 Section along line IV-IV in FIG. 3.

In fig. 1-4 the vacuum cleaner housing is denoted by 1. The vacuum cleaner housing 1 is covered on the suction side by a cover 2 with a suction nozzle and on the pressure side by a cover 3 with an ejection opening 3 ′. The suction unit 4 with drive motor 5 is located inside the housing 1. The suction unit 4 is covered on the motor side by foam, rubber 6 or the like. A shaped labyrinth piece 7 is arranged in the cover 3. The shaped labyrinth piece 7 is composed of two parts 7 ′ and 7 ″. The part 7 ′, which is heart-shaped or heart-like, consists of rubber, while the part 7 ″ is made of foam that is known per se.
The Labyrinthformstilck 7, which consists of the two parts 7 ', is designed as a flat surface in the direction of the pressure side. The rear side of the labyrinth shaped piece 7 is provided with air channels 8 which are delimited from one another by ribs 9. The air channels 8 are arranged in such a way that they run towards the discharge opening 3 ′ in the cover 3. The labyrinth shaped piece 7 is fastened in the cover 3 with the aid of screws 10 or the like known per se.
The course of the air flow during operation is as follows:
The air is sucked in through the suction nozzle 21 in the cover 2 by the suction unit 4, which is driven by the motor 5. The air flow (see arrows in FIG. 4) hits the labyrinth shaped piece 7, the end face of which is smooth. is deflected at right angles downwards and to the sides and flows in the opposite direction to the flow direction in front of the labyrinth shaped piece 7 through the air channels 8 into the outlet 3 ′ in the cover 3.
