druckfest abgeschirmten Kabels 10 verbunden.

Device for cathodic protection of domestic water heaters
The invention relates to a device for cathodic protection of utility water makers, in particular for central heating boilers, with an anode which is conveniently arranged inside the utility water heater and which is connected via a resistor to the wall of the utility water heater as a cathode.
The known devices of this type have the disadvantage that the magnitude of the current flowing between the anode and the cathode is fixed. This means that only a very specific electrical potential is available for protection against corrosion, i.e. H. the greatest possible corrosion protection is only achieved for a very specific tank content.
It is the object of the invention to eliminate this disadvantage and to make the device more versatile. It is then proposed that the resistance be designed to be controllable and arranged outside the water heater. This makes it possible to regulate the potential difference between the anode and cathode without having to remove the device from the utility water heater. The greatest possible corrosion protection can be achieved for any boiler content, taking into account the material the wall of the water heater is made of. The effect of the device can be adapted to changing operating conditions even at short notice.
In cases in which the current flowing between the anode and the wall of the water heater is not large enough to ensure reliable protection against corrosion, the resistor can be connected to a source of external current in a manner known per se.
The device is expediently designed in such a way that a cable, which opens inside the anode and is insulated from the service water, is led through a pressure-tight bushing through the cover of the manhole in the service water heater to the outside to the adjustable resistor.
Finally, a catalyst can be provided in the utility water heater which enriches the utility water with lime and / or phosphates to such an extent that the current flowing between the anode and the inner wall of the utility water heater deposits a lime layer and / or phosphate layer on the inner wall. If a lime and / or phosphate liquid is introduced into the utility water heater instead of water and this is brought under the action of higher direct current for a short time, a protective layer can be created on the inner wall of the utility water heater to prevent the action of the later introduced into the utility water heater Service water offers resistance for a long time.
The drawing shows as an embodiment of the subject invention a device for cathodic protection for the utility water heater of a central heating boiler, u. FIG. 1 shows a vertical section through the upper part of the central heating boiler and FIGS. 2 and 3 show details from FIG. 1 in an enlarged view.
In Fig. 1, 1 denotes the outer wall of the jacket of the boiler surrounded by an insulating layer 2. The furnace 3 and the utility water heater 4 arranged above it are surrounded by a water jacket 5. The water heater 4 is supplied or removed via a cold water line 6 and a hot water line 7. In the interior of the water heater 4, a foot made of insulating material 8, for example made of magnetic

The adjustable resistor 12 is in turn connected via a cable 13 to the cover 14 of the manhole in the utility water heater 4.
In Fig. 2, the connection of the pressure-resistant cable is 10 m. shown with the anode 9. This connection takes place in such a way that a bore 15 is arranged in the anode 9, through which the shaft 16 of the anode 9 is accessible. The shaft 16 is provided with the thread 17 with which the anode is screwed into the foot 8 made of insulating material. In a bore 18 of the shaft 16 of the anode 9, a screw 19 is provided in the bore 15 of the anode 9, with which the end 20 of the pressure-resistant cable 10 is fastened by means of a clamping sheet 21 and a nut 22.
In Fig. 3, the pressure-resistant passage 11 of the cable 10 through the cover 14 of the manhole of the water heater 4 is shown in detail. It consists of a washer 23 and nut 24 in the cover 14 of the manhole in the utility water heater 4
