Mehrfedriges elektromagnetisches Relais
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Multi-spring electromagnetic relay
The invention relates to a multi-spring electromagnetic relay intended in particular for use in communications technology, the contact spring system of which ensures a high degree of flexibility in the execution of various circuit combinations and enables a structurally simple and inexpensive manufacture with a small number of components.
In the course of the development of communications equipment, mainly telephone exchanges, the switching circuits combined with switches and operating with relays lost their importance and instead the development of exchanges predominantly operating with relay switching came to the fore.
As a result, there was, on the one hand, an increased demand for relays with a larger spring capacity than that of the conventional relay types; on the other hand, it was demanded that the relay also correspond to the conditions of a suitable mass production from a technological point of view.
The known types of multi-spring relays produced recently have the common disadvantage that, given the high number of springs required for the necessary circuit combinations, advantageous mass production leads to an increase in space requirements and the cost of materials.
The invention relates to a multi-spring electromagnetic relay with an iron core, the contacting spring system of which consists of strung together wire springs inserted in insulating material, several such rows of springs being arranged one above the other and being threaded on one after the other by a metal card that is detachably suspended from the iron core and held by the iron core and balancing springs, each other and on the card supporting, the fixed springs holding and the movable springs leading insulating combs is identified.
An example of the relay according to the invention is explained in detail below with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 shows the example of the execution of a part of a normally open contact spring system, Fig. 2 the same of a normally closed contact spring system, Figs. 3-5 illustrate some possible combination arrangements of the spring system, Figs 7 shows an assembly arrangement of the individual components.
From Fig. 1 and 2 it can be seen that the spring system consists essentially of a fixed and a movable row of wire springs 1 and 2, respectively, with two springs each participating in the closing of the circuit in the fixed row. Both the fixed and the movable row of springs consist of wire springs of the same strength. The ends of the movable springs 2 provided with contacts are angled and each carry a plate 3 suitable for holding the contacts. In both the fixed and the movable row of springs, only one side is equipped with contacts, which is significant compared to the known systems Saving of contact materials results.
The fixed springs 1 are located in the grooves of an insulating comb 4 advantageously produced by means of an injection molding process, lie on the bottom of these grooves and are slightly lifted from there when actuated. Both opposite edges of the ridge 4 are grooved, but the number of the grooves 4 on the fixed tongue 1 side is twice that on the other side. The grooves on the side of the movable springs 2 have the task of offering the movable springs a guide in the corresponding direction, i. H. to prevent their sideways movement. The movable spring is moved by a cardboard sheet 5 made of insulating material, which engages the contact-bearing plate 3 in the plane of the contacts. All springs are pre-tensioned.
The spring arrangement can be used for the production of both normally closed and normally open contact combinations. In the latter case, the mounting position is opposite (Fig. 2), i. H. With a pair of rows, normally closed and normally open contact combinations can be established. With two pairs of rows mounted in the same sense, the number of break contacts (Fig. 4) and make contacts (Fig. 3) can be doubled, and two pairs of mixed springs (Fig. 5) provide a break and make contacts row. The one behind the other, intermediate springs of such a mixed assembled combination can be connected to one another, whereby
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
an alternating or uninterrupted switching spring combination is formed.
Without one
Connection, however, the pair of springs can be used as an independent rest and normally open contact spring pair. It is therefore possible to produce a changeover or break and make contact combination by an identical structure, i.e. H. the number of relay types can be reduced and thus the system can be typified. Compared to other systems, the relay according to the invention makes it possible for the number of switching contact pairs to be twice that of the changeover contacts when producing pure break contact or make contact combinations. This special feature again benefits the practical requirements.
As a result of this arrangement, the specific base area allotted to a pair of contacts is reduced from 1 to 1.25 cm2 to 0.74 cm2.
From a manufacturing point of view, the arrangement offers the advantage that the accuracy of the bending of the angled end of the movable springs does not affect the mutual contact distance. The
Arrangement does not exclude the possibility, if necessary the spring tension also in the assembled one
Correct the condition, as all springs are accessible from the side with the help of a suitable tool.
According to the assembly arrangement shown in FIGS. 6 a and 6 b as well as in FIG. 7, a comb 4 made of insulating material is assigned to each pair of rows. One and the same comb is used for the blocking and separating rows, only the mounting position of the comb is adapted to the respective combination to be set up. In the assembled relay, the combs are threaded onto three attachments of a metal card 6 and are thus supported on the metal card or on one another. The metal card is inserted into two grooves 19 of the iron core 7 and is supported with its two appropriately designed stops 20 on the back of the iron core. The combs 4 and the metal card 6 are tensioned on the iron core by the middle arm 16 with three approaches of the adjustment spring 8 of the spring assembly.
The two outermost arms 21 of the balancing springs are supported on the card 5 with sufficient bias.
The overlapping rows of springs embedded in the insulating material, as well as the adjustment spring 8, are encompassed by the spring clip 9 and pressed together. The bracket 9 is hung on the approach 22 of the iron core. The two eyelets 23 of the metal card are used to regulate the anchor path.
The moving card 5 made of insulating material can be threaded into the two columns 17 of the armature 10. The card is supported in the middle on the correspondingly designed movable part 18 of the armature. The design of this movable part enables the fixed and movable rows of springs to be regulated accordingly.
The iron core of the relay is essentially I-shaped and a two-part winding body 11-12 is glued to it. The coil body is designed in such a way that the wall thickness of the lateral delimitation plates changes in steps, so that they are significantly thicker on one of the surfaces lying on top of one another than on the other. Appropriate assembly can ensure that the wound wire does not stick to the protruding corners of the adapted surfaces during the winding.
The coil unit and the bracket 13 holding the armature are combined by the base body 14 that can be pulled onto the iron core. The spring system is built on the flat surface of the main body. The anchor is pulled on the bracket and is held in the operating position by the spring 15 suspended in the eyelets of the bracket.
