surface. Although the flame is not a point source of radiation, but rather fills a fairly large part of the combustion chamber, deeper waves, i.e. H. pronounced ribs on this wall not from
Advantage. since this would not increase the radiation falling on this wall.

Without the upper noses No, a vault would have to be erected over the stones S in order to achieve the same smoke gas path, which is indicated in the drawing by dashed lines. This would require the use of complex arch stones and the direct irradiation of the heating surface W would be shielded. Without the lower noses Nu, the grate R would possibly have to be covered with perforated stones, which would mean additional stones and the shielding of direct radiation.

The shape of the lugs or noses can of course be any and they can also be attached to any other places. If the grate is not water-cooled and therefore the passage of flue gases through the grate is not desired, z. B. laterally, d. H. hook-shaped noses on the ribs
Mount the stones S are attached, as indicated by dashed lines in the drawing and denoted by Ns.

In the case of cast iron kettles, it is easiest to cast such noses at the same time. B. the required number on each link so that they come to lie behind one another, seen in the direction of the flame. Suitable pieces are welded onto steel boilers.

    PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Boiler suitable for oil firing, in which a refractory lining is provided on the furnace wall and the furnace is preferably designed with sloping side walls, characterized in that simple nose-like projections are formed directly on the furnace wall to hold refractory bricks, on which each support full stones.

2. Boiler according to claim 1, characterized in that the projections are provided on the ceiling and on the floor of the furnace and the stones are also supported against the inclined side walls of the furnace. 3. 3. Cast iron boiler according to claim 1, characterized in that the projections are cast onto the furnace wall. 4. 4. A steel boiler according to claim l, characterized in that the holder of the refractory bricks consists of pieces welded to the furnace walls.
