Selbstklebende, als Meterware ausgeführte Folie für Überzugs zwecke
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft selbstklebende, als Meterware ausgeführte Folien für Überzugszwecke, die mit einer die Selbstklebeschichte abdeckenden und von ihr abziehbaren Schutzauflage versehen sind. Solche Folien werden für die verschiedenartigsten Zwecke, z. B. zum Überziehen von Arbeitsflächen, der Innenwände von Kasten und andern Möbelstücken, nach Art von Tapeten verwendet und bestehen in der Regel aus einer entsprechend gemusterten Bahn aus Polyvinylchlorid, auf dieser aufgetragenen Selbstklebeschichte und diese abdeckende und von dieser abziehbaren Schutzauflage aus Papier.
Gegen dieses Erzeugnis ist nun einzuwenden, dass es recht schwierig ist, die Schutzauflage abzuziehen. Die selbstklebende Folie kann nämlich nur zusammen mit der Schutzauflage in die Form geschnitten werden, in der sie schliesslich, etwa um den Boden einer Lade abzudecken, gebraucht wird ; der Schneidvorgang führt aber dazu, dass sich die Folie und die Schutzauflage gerade in der Schnittlinie fest miteinander verbinden. Ein weiterer Übelstand besteht darin, dass das aus Preisgründen in Frage kommende Papier nicht sehr hart ist und mit seiner Oberfläche auf dem Selbstklebefilm so fest haftet, dass sein Abziehen schwierig ist, oft nicht auf einmal gelingt, bisweilen sich spaltet und dann mit dünnen Faserschichten überhaupt nicht mehr von der Selbstklebeschichte entfernbar ist, wodurch dann ein gleichmässiges Haften auf der Unterlage beeinträchtigt wird.
Auch ist zu bedenken, dass Selbstklebefolien der hier interessierenden Art in die Hände des häufig nur geringe Handfertigkeit besitzenden Verbrauchers kommen, der, wenn er auf diese Schwierigkeiten stösst, vom Erzeugnis als solchem entmutigt wird.
Zur Vermeidung dieser Übelstände schlägt die Erfindung vor, dass die Schutzauflage ihrerseits eine Kunststoffolie, vorzugsweise aus Polyäthylen ist und eine Profilierung in Form einer Wellung, Rippung, eines Rauten- oder Warzenmusters od. dgl. aufweist, um die Kontaktfläche zwischen Selbstklebeschichte und Schutzauflage zu verkleinern.
Auf diese Weise werden mehrere Vorteile erreicht :
Das Haften der Schutzauflage an der Selbstklebeschichte wird auch bei grösster Klebkraft derselben in einem Masse verkleinert, das der Verminderung der wirksamen Haftfläche der Schutzauflage, die ja nur bereichsweise, nämlich längs der höchsten Erhebungen ihrer Profilierung mit der Selbstklebeschicht in Berührung steht, entspricht, wodurch das Abziehen der Schutzauflage auch bei glatt zerschnittenen Folien- stucken sehr erleichtert wird, zumal die Profilierung das Erfassen der Schutzauflage, d. h. das erste Ablösen, sehr erleichtert.
Bemerkt sei, dass es für Wundverbände, die aus einem Heftpflaster und einem davon getragenen, nicht bis zum Rand des Pflasters reichenden Mullstreifen bestehen, bekannt ist, Schutzstreifen vorzusehen, die eine profilierte Kunststoffolie sind. Es besteht jedoch aus mehreren wesentlichen Gründen keine Übereinstimmung zu solchen Erzeugnissen und der vorliegenden Überzugsfolie. Heftpflaster dieser Art haben eine sehr beschränkte Grösse und brauchen nicht, wie eine Meterware, mehrseitig zugeschnitten zu werden, sondern werden nötigenfalls nur quer abgeschnitten. Der Schutzstreifen eines solchen Verbandes klebt lediglich an den Randteilen des Pflasters und hat die Aufgabe, den Mullstreifen lose zu überdecken, ohne jedoch an diesem haften zu dürfen.
Meist werden ausserdem zwei von beiden Rändern des Pflasters ausgehende Schutzstreifen verwendet, die sich über dem Mullstreifen überlappen. Als Unterlage für den Mullstreifen dient ein Gewebe (oft querelastisch ausgeführt) und nicht eine Kunststoffolie.

The present invention relates to self-adhesive films designed as yard goods for coating purposes, which are provided with a protective layer which covers the self-adhesive layer and can be removed from it. Such films are used for a wide variety of purposes, e.g. B. to cover work surfaces, the inner walls of boxes and other pieces of furniture, used like wallpaper and usually consist of a correspondingly patterned sheet of polyvinyl chloride, applied to this self-adhesive layer and this covering and removable from this protective layer of paper.
The objection to this product is that it is very difficult to remove the protective overlay. The self-adhesive film can only be cut together with the protective overlay into the shape in which it is ultimately needed, for example to cover the bottom of a drawer; the cutting process, however, leads to the fact that the film and the protective overlay are firmly connected to one another just in the cutting line. Another drawback is that the paper used for price reasons is not very hard and its surface adheres so firmly to the self-adhesive film that it is difficult to remove, often does not succeed all at once, sometimes splits and then with thin fiber layers at all can no longer be removed from the self-adhesive layer, which then adversely affects uniform adhesion to the substrate.
It should also be borne in mind that self-adhesive films of the type of interest here come into the hands of consumers who often have little manual dexterity and who, when faced with these difficulties, are discouraged by the product as such.
To avoid these inconveniences, the invention proposes that the protective overlay itself be a plastic film, preferably made of polyethylene, and have a profile in the form of a corrugation, ribbing, a diamond or wart pattern or the like in order to reduce the contact area between the self-adhesive layer and the protective overlay .
In this way several advantages are achieved:
