Verfahren zum Gerben von Häuten und Fellen.
Vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Gerben von Häuten und Fellen, welches von den bisherigen, allgemein üblichen Gerbvcrfahren wfsent ! ic( < abweicht. Das Verfahren besteht darin, dass die Häute, nachdem sie in bekannter Art durch Behandlung mit Kalk (Kalkungsprozess) enthaart worden, zwei oder mehr Stunden (je nach ihrer Dicke) in einer mehr oder weniger gesättigten und bis auf 44-500 C angewärmten Sole (vor- zugsweise Steinsalz bezw. Sumpfsalzlösung) ausgeweicht werden.
Die in der Sole ausgeweichten Häute werden darauf einer 10-20 Stunden anhaltenden Anräucherung unter- worfen und zu diesem Zwecke auf Holzgittern ausgebreitet oder an Haken in der Raucher- kammer aufgehängt, in wolche durch Verbrennen von vegetabilischem Material erzeugter Ranch eingelassen wird. Die angestellten Versuche haben ergeben, dass überaus befriedigende Resultate erzielt werden, wenn man als rauchbildenden Brennstoff Stroh, Dünger, al)- gefallenes Laub, Nadeln und Zweige von Nadelhölzern verwendet.
Zum Schluss werden die Häute nach dem Anräuchern in einer schwachen Lösung (ungefähr 15 cm3 des im Handel vorkommenden Vitriolöls auf 10 l Wasser) von Schwefelsäure geweicht, wobei man dieselben in der Lösung einige Stunden lang bis zur vollständigen Entfernung des Salzes liegen lässt.
Die auf die beschriebene Weise behandelten Häute sind weich (sammetartig beim Anfühlen) und elastisch und eignen sich für jegliche Zwecke. Es können nach diesem Verfahren Häute und Felle jeglicher Art von Ochsen, Kühen, Schafen, Ziegen, Pferden usw. behandelt werden. Für die Felle ist das Verfahren ganz dasselbe, nur dass dieselben nicht gekalkt (abgehaart) werden.

The present invention relates to a method for tanning hides and skins, which differs from the previously generally used tanning methods! ic (<deviates. The procedure consists in that the skins, after they have been depilated in a known manner by treatment with lime (liming process), for two or more hours (depending on their thickness) in a more or less saturated and up to 44- 500 C warmed brine (preferably rock salt or swamp salt solution) can be soaked.

The skins treated in the manner described are soft (velvety to the touch) and elastic and are suitable for all purposes. Hides and skins of all kinds from oxen, cows, sheep, goats, horses, etc. can be treated with this method. The process is completely the same for the skins, only that they are not limed (haired off).
