EMI1.1

Lath storage on transport devices for bricks
In the brickworks, the cut briquettes are often automatically placed on laths and transported to the drying plant via lifting devices and trolleys.
The dried bricks together with the slats are brought back into a scaffolding by means of a trolley, and from here pair of slats are placed with the bricks on a roller conveyor.
During the advance of the slats with the dried briquettes on the roller conveyor mentioned, the briquettes are automatically lifted from the slats and guided to the distillery. The laths continue to run on the roller conveyor and are returned via a lath magazine to the automatic depositing system near the extrusion press, in order to be filled with green bricks again.
In this case, the bricks are often transported using a chain, which is provided with support elements for the slats, for removing slats from the transport device in a direction transverse to their movement direction. A continuous run of the slats only results, however, if the size and number of the briquettes used in the dryer correspond to the size and number of the briquettes exported from the dryer. As soon as the use in the dryer does not match the move out from the dryer, there are too many slats or slats are missing. The same must therefore be removed or supplied by hand.
If z. B. 7200 normal bricks (12 pieces per pair of slats) are fed into the drying plant every hour
EMI1.1
and there are 100 pairs of slats missing every hour.
Since the reduction in the production output of green bricks, in adaptation to the lower amount of slats, would be economically nonsensical, in the above example you have to add 100 slats by hand to the surrounding slats every hour.
If the situation is reversed, slats must be removed.
The present invention aims to eliminate the above-mentioned disadvantages.
The invention relates to a lath store on transport devices for bricks with a chain provided with support elements for the laths for removing laths from the transport device in a direction transverse to the direction of movement thereof.
According to the invention, the set object is achieved in that the lath store is formed by at least one chain which simultaneously serves as a removal device.
An exemplary embodiment is shown in the accompanying drawings. 1 shows a side view, partially in section, FIG. 2 shows a section along line CC in FIG. 1 with the roller conveyor for transporting the slats, FIG. 3 shows a pulley with chain, on a larger scale, and FIG Section along line AA in FIG. 3.
In a frame 10 which carries a motor 11, two endless chains 1 and 1 are arranged across a roller conveyor 3 and run through this roller conveyor at the interruptions arranged for this purpose.
The chains 1 and 1 'run over rollers 5 (covered with rubber 5') which are mounted on shafts 7 and supported on a frame 10 via bearings 8 and 9. The chains 1 and 1 ', the distance between which in the motion

the slats 4 arranged in which the slats can be stored. These support elements 2 are designed as square pipe pieces. Two of these square pipe pieces 2 are via links 12 with one
Chain link 15 connected, u. so that there is a square tube 2 on each side of the chain 1 and together form a pair. These pairs are arranged alternately once in front of and once behind the chain 1 (seen in the direction of movement of the slats).
The square pipe pieces 2 have openings D (Fig. 3), which can pass pairs of slats with play in the appropriate position relative to the roller conveyor 3. The pipe sections 2 are in the radial direction with
Flaps 6 provided and are supported in the area of the chain deflection on rollers 5 and are through the
Flap 6 out, which also the chains 1 and l * are out.
The operation of the device described above is as follows:
As long as the amount used in the dryer corresponds to the amount of slats transported back from the dryer, the slats on the roller conveyor 3 pass through the chambers 13 and 14 (FIG. 2) unimpeded.
If, however, too many slats are present, the chain picks up pairs of slats from the roller conveyor by first penetrating a pair of slats through the pipe sections 13 and 14 and as long as the slats are still in the pipe sections
13, 14 are located, the chains 1 and 1 * are moved upwards by the length of a chain link, as a result of which the pair of slats is lifted off the roller conveyor. The chains are driven by a motor 11 which is controlled, for example, by a slat magazine. The control can take place, for example, in such a way that a slat level is determined in the slat magazine, and when this level is exceeded or undershot, the drive of the slat store is actuated in the storing or in the outputting sense.
This actuation of the drive of the bar storage device can for example be carried out by a photocell or another organ that monitors the chain level.
Due to the type of control, the required number of slats, depending on the excess slats on the roller conveyor and in the slat magazine, is removed from the circulating slat quantity and stored by the movement of the chain.
If, however, there are too few slats, the chains are lowered by the length of a chain link, as described above, and a pair of slats is placed on the roller conveyor and taken along by it. This eliminates the shortage of laths in the lath magazine on the depositing device.
In this way, this device automatically replaces the removal, storage and feeding of slats to the roller conveyor by hand.
