Verfahren zur Sichtung von Mahlgut, insbesondere von
Kohlenstaub .
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Method for the sifting of grist, in particular of
Coal dust. The invention relates to a method for sifting ground material, in particular coal dust, in a gravity sifter preferably connected to a beater mill.
The performance of high-speed beater mills depends to a considerable extent on the type of classifier used, its design and connection with the actual mill. From this point of view, the gravitational sifters, called sifting shafts, are the most advantageous. Their construction and their connection to the mill enables the open grinding housing to be designed,
EMI1.1
in order to allow the mill to relieve the grinding chamber of the ground coal, the sifted material, and to achieve a more economical work of the mill.
The particles of a granular material, e.g. B. the grains of the ground coal dust, behave in a gravity sifter in the same way as in a liquid layer, admittedly of irregular composition, i. That is, they form floating grain clusters of different densities, superimposed at different heights, according to the irregularity of the velocity field and the instantaneous local velocity. The inhomogeneity of the speed field is caused by the vortex efect of the beaters of the mill rotor, which destroys the uniformity of the speed distribution within the gas flow in the shaft.
This unfavorable effect of the mill rotor is eliminated either by choosing a sufficient height of the separator shaft, 10 m and more, or by means of various built-in components or structurally improved designs of the actual shaft.
So was z. B. the installation of a grid in the form of a stepped and obliquely arranged impact angle system, which is intended to connect the passage of coarser particles into the classifier space, proposed. However, such internals could not completely prevent the penetration of coarse grains, and in order to achieve a satisfactory sifting, a considerable shaft height is still required in this case as well. Complicated installations change the nature of the gravity sifting in character to a deflection sifting, increase the resistance of the sifter significantly, lower the performance of the mill and the composition of the resulting dust as the end product is not satisfactory.
These disadvantages are eliminated according to the method according to the invention in that the grist leaving the mill rauci by air discharge is passed through a grid arranged horizontally at the point of entry into the sifter and brought into a fluidized state by dissolving the vortices generated by the rotor of the mill . The horizontally built-in dense grid prevents the not yet completely ground grains coming from the mill from penetrating at increased speed into the upper part of the shaft: however, it does not hinder the removal of the finished ground material.
The fluidized layer of the ground material expands in such a way that each speed corresponds to a single layer height of particles of a certain size. Smaller particles are then evenly removed from this layer in a fraction composition that corresponds to the speed of the gas flow used. The degree of uniformity of the expansion of the fluidized layer of the ground material also depends on maintaining a constant concentration of particles in the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
individual diameters. In the fluidized layer, the particles acquire the properties of a liquid, i.e. H. they exert hydrostatic pressure on the walls, overflow into connected rooms, etc.
The uniform concentration of the particles of the fluidized ground material is brought about by returning the grains, which are still too large, into the mill by means of an overflow arranged above the fluidized bed and by simultaneously utilizing the suction effect of the rotating beater. The overflow protrudes with its upper edge into a certain layer height and with the lower end into the mill chamber on the return side of the rotor, so that the return effect of the rotating beater is also used.
The regulation of the fineness of the dust is carried out by changing the speed of the gas flow that passes through the separator shaft. A further possible control method makes use of a change in the height of the overflow edge of the return line above the grille for fluidizing the ground material and the width of the lower end of the line for the unfinished material by means of a rotary valve.
The method according to the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an exemplary embodiment of a gravitation sifter shown in section. The horizontally installed, z. B. made of angle iron grating A extends essentially over the entire cross-section of the chess
EMI2.1
and is connected at one edge to a simple roof B, which prevents the dust flowing on the wall - that the pressure loss in the system does not affect the required performance of the mill. At the feed side of the raw material, e.g. B. coal, in the mill a line C is arranged in the form of an overflow for grains that are still too coarsely ground, the outlet opening D of which is relocated into the mill chamber so that the suction effect of the rotor can apply.
At the end of the line C, a flap E is arranged, with the help of which the opening can be changed and the grinding fineness can be influenced.
