Terminal arrangement for flameproof electrical
machines and devices
With flameproof machines and devices, it is necessary to seal the housing against the terminal box. It is therefore not possible to lead the supply lines to the terminal strips in the usual way. rather, the arrangement of pressure-tight bushings is required. In a known embodiment, terminal boards are arranged on both sides of the housing wall. which are provided with holes for receiving the bushings. Another embodiment is also known in which a terminal board with bushings is inserted into milled recesses in the housing, the gap widths and gap lengths being dimensioned according to the relevant regulations.
In any case, the effort for production is considerable and the space requirement is large.
The subject of the invention is a terminal arrangement for flameproof encapsulated electrical machines and devices, which is characterized above all by a particularly simple and space-saving structure and inexpensive to manufacture. According to the invention, at least one longitudinal bore is arranged in a partition between the pressure chamber and the terminal box, the diameter of which is greater than the thickness of the partition, and a terminal rod provided with bushings is inserted into each of these bores, gap widths and gap lengths being designed in accordance with the regulations for flameproof enclosures.
The terminal rod is made of insulating material, preferably cast resin, but to achieve a particularly precise fit, it can be made of metal, in particular steel, and the bushings for the lead-through bolts are advantageously cast into the terminal rod with resin.
Embodiments of the invention are shown in the figures of the drawing. 1 and 2 show the arrangement according to the invention in an elevation and plan view in the case of a flameproof encapsulated electric motor with a terminal box cast onto the housing. The terminal box is designated with 1 here. The two terminal rods 3 arranged in the partition 2 are made of cast resin and are provided with bores for receiving the current-carrying bolts 4. The leads 5 to the motor are soldered into the square ends 6 of the current-carrying bolts 4, for example, while the other ends of the terminals 7, which are used to hold the cable lugs of the individual wires of the mains connection cable and the circuit connections. are fastened with the help of nuts 8.
The two clamping rods 3 are each provided with a blind hole, into which a clamping screw 9 mounted in the partition 2 engages to secure against displacement or rotation. The terminal box is covered with a cover in a manner known per se and, if the appropriate seals and cable bushings are arranged, it can itself be encapsulated in a pressure-resistant manner or designed to be explosion-proof
3 shows a section through a metallic clamp rod 10, into which brass bushings 11 are cast with casting resin 12 to accommodate the current-carrying pins 4. In this embodiment, for example, the two sides 13 of the clamp rod 10 that are not located in the partition 2 are flattened.
The gap width and gap length between partition 2 and clamp rod 10 is designed in accordance with the regulations for flameproof enclosures.
4 shows the section through a likewise metallic clamp rod 14, in the transverse bore of which a current-carrying pin 4 inserted in an insulating tube 15 is arranged. Another insulating tube 16 serves as a support for the terminals 7. Numerous other solutions according to the invention are conceivable for the arrangement of the current-carrying bolts and their formation.
