Measuring device with optical and photoelectric means
The invention relates to a device with optical and photoelectric means for Feinstmessnng of changes in position of a nearby object by the action of the light emitted from a light spot on the surface of this object on a photoelectric device, for. B. a system of photocells.
For such a device, it has already been proposed that a system of diaphragms or mirrors be arranged in the image-side beam path of a lens system imaging the luminous spot, which divides the luminous flux into two partial luminous fluxes acting on the light electrical device so that they are equal in the measurement zero position of the luminous spot are large and suffer relative changes in intensity when the light spot changes position in the direction of the optical axis of the imaging lens system, so that voltage changes occur in the photoelectric device, which are a measure of the change in position.
In such a device, the diaphragms or mirrors are arranged outside the plane in which the light spot located in its measurement zero position is imaged by the lens system.
This proposed device is based on a spatial division of the beam path into two partial luminous fluxes and on a masking for the formation of residual luminous fluxes, the intensities of which are compared with one another.
Another intensity comparison without the spatial separation into two light streams is offered according to the invention if means are provided which bring about a continuously oscillating relative movement of the light spot image with respect to a diaphragm in the direction of the optical axis of the lens system, so that changes in intensity occur as a result of the masking, and the photoelectric The device is set up in such a way that the display device located in its output circle shows the value zero when the luminous spot is measured to zero. This can be achieved by a diaphragm that oscillates continuously along the optical axis around the image of the light spot, e.g. B. a pinhole. This results in an approximately sinusoidal to meander-shaped fluctuation in luminous flux of twice the aperture frequency.
This is due to the fact that when the diaphragm passes through the image position of the light spot, a maximum of the intensity occurs, but on both sides of the oscillating center position there are intensity reductions due to glare. If the position of the object to be measured now changes, the position of the image of the light spot is also shifted relative to the oscillating position of the diaphragm, whereby the intensity reductions in the two oscillating positions are different. The luminous flux fluctuation with twice the diaphragm oscillation frequency is thus superimposed by a luminous flux fluctuation with the diaphragm oscillation frequency itself, which gives a measure of the change in position of the object to be measured according to its amplitude and phase.
The separation of these two frequencies can be achieved in the subsequent electrical device part by known methods. Here, too, it is advisable to compensate for deviations from the measurement zero setting and to return a z. B. to use optical compensator as a measure for the position of the object.
The same effect can also be achieved in that the diaphragm is stationary and the beam path on the image side is set in longitudinal oscillations, so that the image of the light spot lies successively in front of and behind the stationary diaphragm, which again shows the electrical effect described above.
Such an oscillating longitudinal movement of the light beam path can be generated, for example, by vibrations of an optical element lying in the image beam path, e.g. B. a negative lens, which is arranged movable in the direction of the optical axis of the lens system, or a sinks-real movable to this axis arranged glass wedge, which belongs to a system of two glass wedges

mutual adjustment has the effect of changing the thickness of a plane-parallel glass plate.
An example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is illustrated in a schematic representation in the drawing.
1 denotes an object to be measured, the surface of which is not self-luminous, but on which a light spot Bt to be used for the measurement must first be generated. For this purpose, a semitransparent mirror 3 is arranged in the imaging beam path of an objective 2, by means of which the light rays coming from a point light source 4 are fed to the objective 2.
The light source is imaged on the object 1 as a light spot B, while the objective 2 images this light spot in a plane B'1. Between the measurement object 1 and the objective 2 a compensator is arranged which contains two glass wedges 5 and 6 which form a plane-parallel plate, the first of which can be displaced perpendicular to the optical axis of the objective 2 in order to be able to change the thickness of the plane-parallel plate. This means that deviations from the measurement zero position can be returned by compensation and the return of the compensator can be used as a measure of the position of the object.
A continuously oscillating relative movement of the light spot image with respect to a diaphragm 7 in the direction of the optical axis of the lens 2 is generated by the fact that a glass wedge system arranged behind the lens, which, like the compensator 5, 6, has two wedges 8 and 9, one of which (9) is arranged so as to be movable perpendicular to the optical axis of the lens 2 and can experience vibrations in this direction of movement through a device 10 only indicated by its outlines, which causes a continuous change in the thickness of the plane-parallel plate formed by the two wedges 8 and 9, and thus those continuous, oscillating relative movement of the luminous image spot with respect to the diaphragm 7.
The associated photoelectric device, of which only the photocell 11 is shown, must be set up in such a way that the display device located in its output circle shows the value zero when the luminous spot is measured to zero.
