Ferner stellen in vielen Fällen, z.

Pipe fitting for water pipes
The invention relates to pipe fittings for water pipes and, more particularly, to fittings intended for use in connection with plastic pipes.
A disadvantage of plastic lines is that they are electrically and thermally non-conductive. It follows that when the water freezes in such plastic pipes in winter, it is difficult to thaw the pipes. Furthermore, in many cases, e.g. B. on farmsteads in the country, the water pipes that z. B. lead to a well, the only good earth line in the house; If the usual metallic water pipes are replaced by insulating pipes made of plastic, the earth connection and the protection offered by it against fire-causing pipes is lost
Lightning strikes lost.
The invention enables these disadvantages to be remedied by attaching an electrically conductive wire inside the plastic pipe. However, it is difficult to insert such a wire into or into the pipeline. out of it, and the invention is particularly intended to overcome this difficulty.
According to the invention, this is done by providing a threaded bore penetrating the wall in a pipe fitting, independently of the through openings of the fitting, in the wall of which a groove is recessed into which an electrically conductive wire or the like can be inserted, which can then be inserted inside the Plastic pipe runs. When the wire has been inserted into this groove, the threaded hole can be closed by means of a screw, and the whole is sealed by arranging suitable sealing packings between the head of this screw and the fitting, between which the wire is released. Close to this arrangement, a clamping screw for connection to an external line or power source can also be attached to the pipe fitting.
The invention is explained below with reference to the drawing, which shows a partial section through a pipe fitting and a plastic pipe.
The fitting 1 is expediently provided with a shoulder or a thickening 2, and a through hole 3 with an internal thread is arranged at this point. A groove 4 is worked into the bore wall, into which an electrically conductive wire 5 or the like can be inserted. The wire 5 runs to a clamping screw 6, which is also arranged on a thickening 7 on the pipe fitting. The bore 3 is sealed by means of a screw, in that sealing packings 9 and 10 are arranged between the head 8 of the screw and the pipe fitting or extension 2, between which the wire 5 to the outside. is led. In this way, the wire 5 is sealed at the point of passage and at the same time clamped.
The plastic pipe 11 is expediently inserted into the pipe fitting 1; the fitting can be provided on the inner wall with barbs engaging in the plastic pipe. The plastic line can now be provided with an internal resistance wire or tin wire, which also serves as an earth line, so that the aforementioned disadvantages of plastic lines compared to water lines made of galvanized iron or copper are eliminated.
