<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Es liegt also z.

Circuit arrangement for two-way connections in systems of communication technology
Two-way connections are known in communication technology and especially in telephone technology. Since the two subscribers of a two-way line are connected to an exchange via a common transmission line, these circuits have the advantage of saving lines, which is particularly noticeable when long lines are saved. The task of such circuits is to keep the call and message signals of one station away from the other station and vice versa.
This task was previously z. B. solved with the help of a relay blocking circuit. Such a relay blocking circuit provides a special blocking relay for each of the two subscriber stations. In the idle state, the two subscriber stations are each between one of the two wires of the common transmission line and earth. The ringing current from the line selector is transmitted separately for each participant on one of the two wires.
The relay circuits previously required in the subscriber station circuits for two-way connections have been in a special two-way connection box z. B. housed with a participant.
This made the maintenance required for switching arrangements with moving contacts more difficult. Furthermore, the effort required for known two-way connections may be so great that it can only be accepted if at the same time the longest possible transmission line is saved.
The invention is based on the object of being able to better utilize the advantages that result from saving transmission lines when using two-way connections, in that the effort for the two-way connection itself is reduced to a minimum. At the same time, no switching means with moving contacts should be used in the relevant subscriber stations themselves for the mutual blocking.
This task is for two-way connections, whose two subscriber stations share a common transmission line. are connected to an office, according to the invention in that the two subscriber stations are connected to the common transmission line via polarized directional conductors that these directional conductors depending on potentials applied to the transmission line, which in the idle state of both stations with changing polarity on the office side by a PolwenJer od. like
are switched on, are alternately at blocking and forward potential, the directional conductors thus in this state act as alternately operated switches between the stations and the transmission line, and that the potentials in the call or call state of a station via contacts of relays that are effective in this state in a the directional conductors assigned to the calling or called station open and the directional conductors of the respective other station blocking polarity are connected to the transmission line.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing, u. 1 shows a circuit according to the invention of a two-way connection with the arrangement of the call relays in an associated subscriber circuit, and FIG. 2 shows a circuit variant for connecting the two subscriber stations.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
In FIG. 1, the two subscribers T1 and T2 of the two-way line are connected to the common transmission line according to the invention via directional conductors Rla and Rlb or R2a, R2b. The common transmission line consists of the two wires a and b. As participants T1 and T2 are here z. B. telephone stations provided. Each subscriber station is a high resistance WI resp.
W2 connected in parallel. These resistors ensure that when the subscriber loop is open, i. H. With the handset on, a quiescent direct current can flow via the supply lines that lead to the common transmission line and in which the aforementioned directional conductors are located. This quiescent direct current opens the directional conductors Rla, Rib or R2a, R2b for the relevant call signal.
Alternating potentials are now applied to the two transmission cores a and b, which are generated here by a pole inverter P with alternating polarity. The directional conductors Rla, Rib or R2a, R2b of the two-way connection are thus alternately at blocking and forward potential and therefore act as alternately actuated switches between the subscriber stations and the transmission line.
To apply the alternating potentials to the two wires a and b, the call relays RUI and RU2 of the two subscribers as well as an isolating relay TR provided jointly for both subscribers are used. For this purpose the call relays RUI and RU2 are each located in a directional conductor circuit I and II. The directional conductor circuit I consists of two directional conductors connected in parallel in opposite directions.

built up. One of the directional conductors is connected in series with the associated call relay. So it is z. B. the call relay RU1 with the director GL10 and the call relay RU2 with the director GL20 in series.
The directional conductor circuits I and II are now connected to the two wires a and b of the transmission line via the idle sides trul of contact trl and via the idle side tru2 of contact tr2, and on the other hand via series-connected idle sides rurlO and rur20 or rurll and rur21 of the sequential switching contacts rulO, ru20 or ruil and ru21 are connected to the pole changer P. These sequential switchover contacts are actuated by the associated call relays RUI or RU2. The working sides rualO and rua21 of the subsequent changeover contacts rulO and ru21 lead to negative potential via resistors, while the working sides ruall and rua20 are connected to earth. The working sides tral and tra2 of the contacts tri and tr2 are on the wires a and b of the transmission line.
In this way, contacts tri and tr2 switch through wires a and b to preselectors VW in their working position. Changeover contacts ru22 and ru23, which are operated by the call relay RU2, are used to reverse the polarity of wires a and b. Two working contacts trll and trl2, which are actuated by the isolating relay TR, connect the directional conductor circuits
EMI2.2
Transmission wires a and b are switched off.
For the outgoing traffic, the circuit now works as follows: It is assumed that the subscriber T1 wants a connection. When the handset of the subscriber station Tl is lifted, the following response circuit for the relay RUI exists in the time interval during which the pole reverser applies positive potential to wire a and, at the same time, negative potential to wire b:
Winding RUI, rectifier GL10 stressed in forward direction, closed rest side rurlO of contact rulO, closed rest side rur20 of contact ru20, pole inverter P, closed rest side rur21 of contact ru21, closed rest side rurll of contact ruil, directional conductor GL21 stressed in forward direction tru2 of contact Contact tr2, wire b, directional conductor Rib stressed in the forward direction, subscriber station Tl, directional conductor Rla stressed in the forward direction, wire a, closed rest side trul of the contact trl, back to the winding of the relay RU1. The subscriber relay RU2 cannot respond in this case, as the associated directional conductor GL20 is used in the reverse direction.
The subscriber relay RU1 responds in the circuit described and now closes its working contacts rualO and ruall. In this way it prepares its own holding circuit and at the same time places its working contact rualO-60V on the a-wire and with its working contact ruall earth on the b-wire. The polarity reverser is then switched off and the potential is retained on the wires of the transmission line.
The same processes take place for the outgoing traffic of subscriber T2. Since the pole changer P changes the polarity of the potential on the wires of the transmission line, for example in time intervals of 0.4 seconds, the subscriber who picks up his handset to be able to establish a connection has priority over the after 0.4 seconds at the latest change subscribers, so that the corresponding call relay RUI or RU2 can respond in the manner described. After the isolating relay TR responds, which responds in a manner known per se, the holding circuit for the call relay of the called or calling subscriber is established via the normally open contact tril or trl2.

of the relay RUI. Guide GL10, closed working contact rualO, minus.
For incoming traffic, the lines LWa, LWb, LWc lead to a line selector.
A fixed potential is applied to wires a and b via these lines in a known manner in the call state, u. between each with reverse polarity depending on whether one or the other of the two subscribers T1, T2 is called.
Under these circumstances, it is useful to connect the resistors W1, W2 in parallel to the subscriber station in such a way that they are switched off when the handset is lifted. This avoids additional attenuation by these resistors.
In Fig. 2, the subscriber stations T1, T2 are also connected to wires a and b of the transmission line via directional conductors. However, in order to achieve greater blocking attenuation in each wire a, b, two directional conductors Rlla and R12a, as well as Rllb and R12b or R21a and R22a or R21b, R22b, connected in series, are provided. The connection points Pl, P2, P3. P4 of these series-connected pairs of directional conductors are here connected to a shunt capacitor C1, C2 in order to increase the blocking attenuation.
The invention has been described using the example of the use of a pole changer. It is also possible to use an AC voltage source with the aid of which potential is applied to the transmission line alternately at a frequency of 50 Hz, for example. When using an AC voltage source, it is advisable to provide a smoothing capacitor in parallel to the call relays.
