Description

    Einphaeige lkommutatormaschine.

    Single phase oil commutator machine.

In the Elektrotechnische Zeitschrift, Berlin (year 1902, page 919 and year 1903, page 109) the excitation of a rotor with commutator by single-phase current is described, which consists in the fact that, during single-phase current, by a pair with a diameter of 3; -y horizontal brushes are introduced, two other auxiliary brushes c, d perpendicular to them are connected in a short circuit (Fig. 1).

With such an excitation arrangement, the commutation among the grinding brushes c, d as well as among the grinding brushes of multi-phase machines according to German patent no.61951 depends essentially on the speed of the rotor, so that a perfect commutation among these grinding brushes theoretically only occurs in the immediate vicinity of the Synchronism is possible. Outside of the synchronism, the commutation must fail; and even with synchronism, the presence of harmonic fields can disturb commutation.

The present invention relates to a more general arrangement than that specified, which enables a much easier commutation with the same drive conditions of the rotor. The arrangement can be arranged without changing anything on the windings or the collector.

The invention consists in the replacement of a short-circuit brush pair by several
 EMI1.1
auxiliary grinding brushes arranged in the same way with respect to the insertion line x-y.

In reality, the rotor can be given two pairs of auxiliary grinding brushes for each pole, so that the arrangement illustrated in FIG. 3 with six by 600 of-
 EMI1.2
commutation can be distributed over the entire circumference of the armature.

You can also connect weak resistors between the successive short-circuit connections (Fig. 3) in order to obtain a slight annihilation of the harmonic fields.
