Gas separator, preferably for mineral oils
The invention relates to gas separators, in particular for mineral oils, with a container containing a float in the upper part and at least one gas discharge valve controlled by the float. In the known gas separators of this type, there is the disadvantage that, with increased viscosity of the mineral oil, complete elimination of the air bubbles is no longer guaranteed, since the entrained air escapes only very slowly, with the risk that air bubbles will be carried away into the drain.
The subject matter of the invention is a gas separator of the type mentioned at the outset, in which a complete freedom from bubbles, which is particularly important for quantity measurement, is guaranteed even for mineral oils with increased viscosity. According to the invention, this is achieved in that an inlet nozzle inserted through the bottom of the container protrudes into the upper half of the container, in the container just above the upper end of the inlet nozzle and under the float, a baffle plate is arranged at an incline and below this centrally a conical widening plate Screen is attached with a downward conical narrowing sieve through which the liquid reaches the outlet nozzle.
The enlargement of the drainage plate by choosing a conical screen causes above all the complete elimination of the air bubbles even from those with a high viscosity.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown in longitudinal section.
The inlet nozzle 2 is extended through the pipe 1 into the upper half of the container. Above the pipe 1 there is an inclined baffle plate 4 against which the medium is pressed and runs off on the conical screen 5. The medium collects in the lower part of the container until it passes through. a conical sieve 6 arranged below the screen 5 flows into the outlet nozzle 3.
The float and two gas discharge valves controlled by the float are arranged in the uppermost part of the container, an arrangement which is described in more detail in Austrian patent no. 195838 in terms of their mode of operation.
