Abstract

An interchangeable magazine for repeating rifles has a resiliently pushed out nose ledge (7) on each long side, the lugs (23) of which snap into a recess (27) in the magazine guide (1). The innovation concerns interchangeable magazines for repeating rifles with a resiliently pressed nose strip on each long side, the noses of which snap into a recess in the magazine guide. This ensures that the magazine is properly guided and easy to use when changing the magazine.

Such a magazine is known from AT-PS 280102. It is a drum magazine, but could also be a bar magazine.

When hunting or during competitions, it is sometimes necessary to be able to fire other cartridges or additional cartridges. To do this, known magazines must either be removed or the cartridge must be inserted into the loading space with the magazine attached. Both are impractical.

In the first case, the magazine must be put in a trouser sack or put down because the shooter has only one hand free, and the additional cartridge can fall through the magazine slot when it is inserted. In the second case, the inserted magazine and the cartridges or base plate of the magazine pushed up therein are an obstacle when inserting and pushing the breech forward. 2 AT 001 742 Ul

It is therefore the aim of the innovation to enable the magazine to be switched off while fully maintaining ease of use and operational safety.

According to the innovation, this is achieved in that each leading edge has two lugs arranged one above the other. As a result, the magazine, with the same movement as when removing, can be pulled out a little bit in its guide and locked in this position by snapping the other lugs above it into the same recess. The top cartridge in the magazine is then lowered so far that it is not caught by the breech block when it is pushed forward. Instead, the simply inserted additional cartridge is pushed into the cartridge chamber.

A further improvement in operating convenience is achieved if the bottom part of the magazine projects outwards and forms a stop which interacts with the edge of the magazine guide. Then the magazine is securely engaged even when operated quickly.

In Figures 1, 2, the magazine guide is designated 1. It is fastened to the breech housing of a repeating rifle, not shown, and accommodates a magazine 2 which consists of a shaft-shaped magazine body 3, a magazine bottom 4 which closes the magazine below, and a feed plate 6 which is pressed upwards by a magazine spring 5. 3 AT 001 742 Ul

In FIG. 2, a nose ledge 7 can be seen on each of the two long sides of the magazine body 3, which is pressed outwards by a compression spring 8. The compression spring 8 is supported on an inner cover 9 which is fastened to the magazine body 3 by means of fastening screws 10. The ledges 7 protrude through a cutout 11 in the side wall of the magazine body. They have on their lateral and upper edge an advance 12 which rests by spring force on the inside of the magazine body and which forms a stop for their outermost position.

It can be seen from FIGS. 2 and 3 that the leading edge 7 has a pusher 20 in the center and symmetrical to the compression spring 8, which for ergonomic reasons projects beyond the magazine guide 1 so that it can be comfortably pressed inwards by the shooter's hand . For this purpose, the magazine guide can have a cutout, not shown. In front of and behind the pusher 20, the leading edge 7 has a front pawl part 21 and a rear pawl part 22. A first nose 23 and a further nose 24 are formed on each latch part. At the location of the latch parts 21, 22, the side wall 26 of the magazine guide 1 has a window-shaped recess 27 which is closed off at the bottom by a web 28.

Figure 3 shows the magazine in the operating position. It is fully inserted into the magazine guide, the first nose 23 is supported on the web 28. It can be seen that the recess 27 must be so high that it also offers space for the further nose 24, but without this having an effect.

Figure 4 shows the position with the magazine switched off. It is achieved in that the first tabs are released by actuating the two pushers 20 'and then the magazine 2 is pulled out a little so that the further tabs 24' can snap into the webs 28.
