Klavierverspreizung.

AUSTRIAN PATENT NUMBER 1 71 23. PETER DUFFY IN NEW YORK.
Piano spread.
The present invention relates to improvements in pianos. When making the straddle of pianos, it is necessary to take precautions so that it can safely withstand the tension exerted by the strings; it is also desirable that the construction of the expansion be of such a type that it allows the soundboard to vibrate freely to ensure a full, pure tone. It should be noted here that the term "expansion" relates to the related structural part of grand pianos as well as of pianinos.
The purpose of the invention is to create a spreading contraction which, despite the fact that it can withstand the tension exerted by the strings, also ensures the necessary purity of the tone by allowing the resonance testicle to vibrate freely and is simple, durable and of relatively low weight.
It is evident that reducing the weight of pianos will also proportionally reduce shipping costs. But this is not overlooked

On the inner surface of the angle iron F), that is, on the side opposite the support for the sound post, a plank 12 is arranged which
