Austrian PATENT LETTERING? 17039.
FRANZ ALOIS BRAUSIL m VIENNA.
Impregnation liquid for treating the surface of the wood to be embossed.
In order to get beautiful embossing in the wood, it is necessary to soak the surface of the wood to be embossed with a solution or mixture. to treat, which makes the wood fiber pliable and resistant, so that it withstands the significant pressure without tearing and permanently retains the shape given to it by the embossing. The most varied of means have already been proposed for this purpose, namely u. a. Soaking the wood surface with oil or boiling glue solution or with a mixture of powdered borax in milk or water.
Although these agents give the wood fiber sufficient toughness for the subsequent embossing process, they either have the effect of the nature of their composition in and of themselves
EMI1.1
hot rollers a change (mostly darkening) of the color, which means that such embossing lengths at first glance are already mechanically produced
EMI1.2
of the wood is softened by the hot embossing device to such an extent that the fiber can change its shape according to the embossing without tearing, but after leaving the embossing device it immediately hardens to such an extent that the fiber can no longer change its position.
These end results should be achieved by using a suitable impregnation liquid, with which the wood or veneers are treated before embossing. These

Borax, 5 parts by weight of asbestos and 10 parts by weight of water glass in 100 parts by weight of sweet milk, which are produced in the following way Bird: First, the solid components, borax and asbestos, are mixed well with the thick water glass with the addition of a little milk and this mixture is then poured into the The rest of the milk is entered to ensure that the solid components in the milk are distributed evenly
EMI1.4
A sponge or a soft cloth is applied to the wood surface to be embossed.
The pieces of wood coated with the liquid are now left to air-dry well and can now be subjected to embossing in a known manner, the temperature of the embossing device being about 1400. With the passage of the so prepared and good
EMI1.5
arises at the place. Borax and especially asbestos also prevent the wood fibers from being scorched or even burned by the heat of the die, so that the embossing appears in exactly the natural color of the drawn-in wood, only that it has a gloss due to the fat content of the impregnation, which is due to light brushing with a not too stiff brush can be increased significantly.
