Ellipsenzeichner nach dem Kreuznutenprinzip
EMI1.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Elliptical draftsman based on the principle of cross grooves
EMI1.1
Another feature of the subject matter of the invention is that the guide element that carries the pawl is shorter
Slider is formed, which in turn is displaceable and lockable in a guide, wherein
Slide and guide are provided with a vernier scale. This device makes it possible in special cases to set values of fractions of a millimeter in addition to the coarse setting given by the toothing.
Furthermore, a connection of the pen with the center point of the ellipse is provided in the form of a ruler, with which the respective radii of the ellipse can be measured. On this ruler, a second pen is also arranged so that it can be moved, with which smaller concentric ellipses can be drawn.
Finally, the rotatable connection of the guide element with the guide blocks is designed in the manner of a push button. This makes it possible to lift the guide elements together with the ruler connecting them slightly from the device, so that the setting can be carried out comfortably on the ruler.
The drawing shows the embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, for example.
1 shows a top view of the device, FIG. 2 shows a side view, FIG. 3 shows the radius ruler, FIG. 4 shows the setting device and FIG. 5 shows a section through it.
The per se known cross-groove guide of an elliptical drawing device is denoted by 1, in which the guide blocks 2 slide. The guide 1 rests on a cylindrical foot 3 which is turned off at 4, for the purpose of receiving the later-described radius ruler 17, to a much smaller diameter.
The guide blocks 2 have a bore 6 into which a button 8 fastened to the guide element 7 and grooved protrudes. A spring 9 made of wire is inserted into the bore 6, so that a device is formed which resembles a push button and allows the connection between the guide element 7 and the block 2 to be released and restored quickly and easily.
In the guide element 7, the actual guide part (slide) 10, in which the ruler 11 is guided, which connects the two guide blocks, slides in a groove.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The guide element 7 and the part 10 have a vernier scale 12, which enables an exact mutual adjustment of the same to fractions of mm. Both parts are using the
Screw 13 mutually fixable.
As mentioned above, the ruler 11 is toothed at 14 and a resilient pawl 15 arranged in the guide part 10 engages in this toothing, the pitch of which is preferably 1 mm and which is numbered.
As already indicated, the pawl and teeth are designed in such a way that a small amount of force is sufficient to let the pawl jump from one tooth gap to the other, but there is still sufficient security against unintentional adjustment.
The ruler 11 carries a suitable holder at 16 in which a pen (16 a) (drawing needle or the like) can be attached.
In the above-mentioned recess 4 of the foot 3, a slotted ruler 17 is guided, the end of which is attached at 18 to the pen.
When moving the pen around, i. H. When drawing an ellipse, the ruler 17 slides with its slot on the foot of the device and the respective radius of the ellipse, which is given by the distance of the pen from the center, can be read from a graduation attached to the ruler 17 for this purpose.
Finally, a second pen 19 is slidably attached to the ruler 17, with the aid of which smaller, concentric ellipses can be drawn.
The handling of the device takes place in such a way that the ruler 11 with the guide parts is lifted off the guide blocks 2 and the guide parts are moved along the ruler by applying moderate force until the distances between the pen and the guide blocks, determined in a known manner, through which the Dimensions of the ellipse are intended to be fixed in whole millimeters.
Occasional tenths of a value are readjusted with the vernier.
After attaching it to the guide blocks, the ellipse can be drawn immediately.
