Fig. l zeigt eine Greifklaue in Vorderansicht,
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Gripping claw for mounting on wheels, in particular on motor vehicle wheels
In order to drive a vehicle on soft terrain, e.g. B. on plowed land, swampy grass fields, bog ground and similar places, to enable or facilitate, it has been proposed to provide the pull wheels with removable gripping claws, which consist of a U-shaped bent bracket with a protruding ridge which during the Engages in the base while driving, thereby preventing the bike from sliding. The gripping claws are expediently arranged by means of a wheel mounted on a wheel, e.g. B. six gripping claws guided clamping device attached so that after the
Gripping claws are arranged on the wheel, all gripping claws can be clamped at once.
In order to make it possible that such gripping claws also come to rest firmly against wheels of a size that does not exactly correspond to the size of the gripping claws, it has been proposed to connect the outer arm of the bracket to the bracket so that it can rotate. The known gripping claws of this type cannot, however, be clamped firmly enough against the wheel to withstand a large pull, as is the case for example. B. at
Wagon for military use is the case.
In order to achieve this, according to the invention, a closure member is rotatably arranged on the bracket itself, which in its closed position the rotatable arm of the bracket against the wheel or the
Press the wheel cover firmly.
It is useful to have all of them in one sentence, e.g. B. six gripping claws, belonging clamping members mutually connected, so that their connecting members hold each other in the clamping position.
The subject matter of the invention is illustrated by an exemplary embodiment in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a gripping claw in front view,
Fig. 2 is a side view, Fig. 3 shows six gripping claws mounted on a truck ceiling and Fig. 4 shows a detail.
In the embodiment shown, each gripping claw consists of a bracket 7 mainly in U-shape, the one with an outwardly directed
Comb 2 is provided. The inner arm 3. of the bracket is so long that it encompasses the ceiling at least over half of its height.
The outer arm 4 is very short and an arm 7 is fastened in a reinforcement 5 of the arm 4 so that it can rotate around a bolt 6. The curved side 8 of the arm 7 is intended to be placed against the outer side of the wheel cover.
A closure member 10 in the form of a two-armed lever is rotatably arranged around a bolt 9 in the reinforcement 5, the short arm 11 of which rests against an arcuate part 12 of the arm 7. The closure member has a curved surface 13 which corresponds to the curved surface 8 of the arm 7. Furthermore, the free end of the long lever arm 10, which is bent at an obtuse angle, has an eye 14, the use of which is described in more detail below.
The outer end of the inner arm 3 is slightly curved so that the whole arm comes to rest firmly against the ceiling.
When the gripping claw is to be fastened to the ceiling, it is pushed over the ceiling and the arm becomes by means of the locking arm 10
7 pressed firmly against the ceiling. When the gripping claws belonging to a wheel, e.g. B. six, are brought into place in this way, one is attached to the one gripping claw
Chain 15 hooked onto a hook 14a of the neighboring gripping claw and by means of a nut 18 provided with a right-hand and left-hand thread and into which screws 19 are screwed, the gripping claws can be clamped tightly around the ceiling.
The point of application of the lever arm 11 on the
Arm 7 is chosen so that it becomes self-locking when the locking arm assumes its closed position.
The eye 14 on the closure member 10 and its
Rotation axes 9 are arranged in relation to one another in such a way that the axes between them for all clamping elements in the clamping position lie in a common plane parallel to the wheel plane, so that they cannot work their way while driving.
In order to make a gripping claw usable for wheel covers with very different thicknesses, the arm 4 or its reinforcement 5 can have two or more holes 20 for the bolt 6
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
and provided with corresponding holes for the bolt 9, so that the span of the entire gripping claw can only be made smaller or larger by moving the bolt in the holes.
Eventually, the chain 15 can be avoided by providing the lever arm 10 or the locking member with a locking device instead, e.g. B. in the form of a pawl which engages in a hook in the arm 11, so that the pawl must first be rotated out of its engagement before the closure member 10 can be released.
