Fig. 3 ist ein Schnitt nach Linie

Coin counter
There are already known coin counting machines with a width-adjustable, open-top channel through which the coins are fed to a counter arranged on a side boundary of the channel. However, these machines are extensive and very expensive and their purchase is only worthwhile for larger financial institutions.
The invention relates to a coin counting device of the type mentioned, which, however, advantageously differs from the known machines in that it is so small and light that it can be conveniently carried in a briefcase. It can also be adjusted to the diameter of any type of coin without difficulty. It is not necessary to adjust the height of the coins, since it is well known that the thickness of the smallest coin in the usual coin series is greater than the thickness of the largest coins.
The mentioned advantage is achieved in the coin counting device according to the invention in that it is connected by means of a clamp or the like
Table tops can be connected, the bottom surface of the channel with the table surface in one
Level and the two side boundaries protruding against the tabletop and resting on it form an extension of the channel vol the counter.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the coin counting device is shown. 1 shows a top view of the device attached to a table. 2 shows an enlarged plan view of the counter with the cover plate removed and part of the
Channel. Fig. 3 is a section along the line
III-III of FIG. 2. From FIG. 4, a section along the line to FIG. 2 can be seen.
On a base plate 1, a counter 2 is arranged, which is up through a with the
Base plate 1 screwed cover plate 3 is closed, so that only the sunk
Rotary handle 4 of the counter 2 is visible from the outside. The rotary handle is screwed to a rotatably mounted, ten-tooth coin counting wheel 5, the driving pin 6 of which moves a lower-lying five-toothed indexing wheel 7 by one after each full revolution of the coin counting wheel
Tooth moved on until a slightly longer than

strikes the pawl 8, which is held by a spring 9 in the locking position.
The coin counting wheel 5 is arranged tangentially to the right-hand side boundary of the cover plate 3 in such a way that teeth through a recess in the narrow side of the cover plate slightly stimulate a channel 10 to the right. The part of the gear 5 protruding into the channel 10 is covered by a bay-like projection 11 of the cover plate. The right side boundary of the cover plate 3 is stepped towards the surface of the base plate 1 in such a way that a groove 12 runs along the bottom surface of the channel 10 and whose height is less than twice the height of the smallest coin in question.
By arranging a ruler 13 lying parallel to it, which has a groove 12 ′ of the same height and which can be laterally displaced and locked in transverse slots 15 of the base plate 1 by means of clamping screws 14, the width of the channel 10 can be changed. The channel 10 is used for the orderly supply of the coins 17 to the counter and can be easily adapted to the respective coin diameter by adjusting the ruler 13.
To place the coin counter on a table top J? To be able to clamp C is the one via the

protruding parts of the cover plate 3 and the ruler in sit on the table surface. This results in an extension of the part of the coin duct located in front of the counter 2 and at the same time creates a stop for the coins prepared for counting on the table top by the part of the guide ruler 13 that extends beyond the end of the opposite cover plate 3.
The nose 21 of the cover plate located at the entrance of the channel above the continuous groove 11 serves to hold back bent coins.
When using the coin counting device, the counter 2 is brought into the zero position shown in FIG. 2 before the start of the counting by turning the rotary handle 4 until it continues to turn as a result of hitting the

Locking tooth 7 'on the pawl 8 is no longer possible. Then the coins are advanced in the channel until the first one rests on the coin counting wheel 5. If the pawl 8 is now raised a little on its part protruding from the cover plate 3, it releases the path for the ratchet tooth 7 ′ of the ratchet wheel 7 and the counting of the numbers by hand through the channel 16
EMI2.1
Tooth 7 'is released again and, under the action of the spring 9, lies in the blocking position as before.
Each of the coins moving through the channel moves the coin counting wheel 5 by one tooth until, as a result of the already described action of the driver pin 6 on the ratchet wheel 7, after 50 coins have passed through, the ratchet tooth 7 ′ rests on the ratchet 8 again. When leaving the channel, the 50 counted coins are dropped into the container provided under the end of the channel. The counting of the next 50 coins can start in the same way after the lock is released.
If the count results in a remainder of less than 50 coins, as is often the case, the counter remains in an intermediate position after the remainder has passed and must be set to zero in order to start a new count.
This is done by turning the counter further using the rotary handle 4. For easy determination of the respective counter reading, the wheels of the counter can also be equipped with a display device, e.g. B. with pointers, which are arranged sunk on the top of the cover plate 3. For this purpose, the cover plate can also be transparent or equipped with windows. In any case, all moving parts of the counter must be sunk or arranged in such a way that they are protected from unintentional external influence.
