<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Innenwiderstand 24 praktisch vollständig an diesem Widerstand 24 liegt.
37, 38 besteht.
Fig. 1 bis 4.

Circuit arrangement for generating a preferably periodically occurring current or voltage drop in flip-flop circuits.
For some technical purposes, for example in oscillography with Braun tubes and in the field of television, the task is to produce a preferably periodic current or voltage curve by means of given control currents or control voltages using a trigger circuit. As in the following, the word "flip-flop" should be understood to mean a circuit in which a current or voltage curve develops in the same way after each initiation by the control current or the control voltage, or in which if the control current fails or periodic current or voltage changes occur in the control voltage.
Examples of such trigger circuits are the so-called self-blocking visual oscillation generator (blocking oscillator), the so-called multiple oscillation generator (multivibrator) and others. In many practical cases, on the one hand, the course of the control current or the control voltage is not always exactly the same and, on the other hand, the demands on the constancy of the current or voltage course in the flip-flop circuit are extremely high. One
An example of this is the synchronization of the line series change (vertical shift) in television receivers that work according to the interlaced procedure.
The curve shape of the current in the deflection coils or the curve shape of the voltage on the deflection plates for the slow image coordinate must be extremely constant in order to avoid a displacement of the two series of lines against each other in the vertical direction. Other cases in which the problem of generating a current or voltage curve that always takes place uniformly is also of importance will be discussed further below.
The accuracy of the work of the flip-flop circuit shortly after the onset of power or
The voltage curve can now be increased significantly if depending on the onset. of the current and voltage curve in the trigger circuit, the further controlling effect of the control current or the control voltage is reduced or eliminated.
A number of circuits which enable this with the aid of a six-pole tube used in addition to the toggle switch or with the aid of an additional rectifier will be explained below with reference to the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of the invention: in which in the grid circle one
Blocking rocker tube 14 is a rectifier (diode) 22, u. between the terminals 23, to which the control voltage is supplied. The resistor 24 is a series resistor or the internal resistance of the control voltage source.
The arrangement according to FIG. 1 works in such a way that the control voltage is supplied to the terminals 23 in the form of a positive pulse b, whereby in the tube 14, which up until then was blocked due to the residual voltage still existing on the RC element 17, an anode current is generated.
For the reasons known from the blocking oscillator, this inevitably leads to the formation of a grid current after an extremely short time, since a voltage in the sense of the plus and minus signs forms on the secondary winding 16 of the feedback transformer.
This voltage drives the grid current through the grid-cathode section of tube j! 4 as well as the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Anode-cathode path of the rectifier 22.
Since the internal resistance of this rectifier line is small compared to the resistor 24, the control voltage from the point in time at which the rectifier becomes conductive is practically applied to the resistor 24, so that the influence of the control voltage on the anode current curve in the blocking oscillator almost completely disappears. In this arrangement, the controlling effect of the control voltage depending on the onset of the grid current and thus indirectly depending on the onset of the anode current of the blocking oscillator tube is practically switched off. The desired voltage pulse, which is independent of the course of the pulse b, can again be picked up at the left end of the resistor 18.
Another embodiment, in which the control voltage is inductively fed to the cathode of a blocking tube and the controlling effect is also interrupted with the aid of a rectifier, is shown in FIG. In this reference numerals 14 to 18 denote a blocking oscillator circuit of the same type as in FIG. 1. A transformer which supplies a pulse a is denoted by 25, the rectifier again by 22 and a series resistor or the internal resistance of the transformer by 24 .
The arrangement according to FIG. 2 works in such a way that, as soon as the pulse a begins, da-cat. The high potential of the tube 14, which until then may still be blocked by the residual charge on the RC element 17, is lowered, so that an anode current begins. This forms a voltage drop in the sense of the plus and minus signs entered at the resistor 24, so that the rectifier 22 becomes current-permeable. From now on there is a practically constant potential at the cathode of the tube 14, since the
Control voltage a because of the low internal resistance of the rectifier 22 compared to the Vorbzw. Internal resistance 24 is practically completely due to this resistance 24.
As a result, the anode current pulse of the blocking oscillator runs practically independently of the course of the
Control voltage a as soon as the rectifier 22 has become conductive. The desired constant voltage pulse is picked up again from the left end of the resistor 18.
3 shows a circuit arrangement in which the control voltage is fed to the cathode of a blocking oscillator tube by galvanic means. The reference numerals 14 to 18 and 22 have the same meaning as in FIG. 2. A tube connected upstream of the blocking oscillator is denoted by:? 6, its anode resistance with 27 and an RC element serving for anode coupling with 28. 29.
A series resistor 30 is located between this RC element and the cathode of the tube 14.
The arrangement of FIG. 3 operates in such a way that the control grid of the tube 26 has the positive
Control voltage is supplied. Until this control voltage occurs, the tube 26 is de-energized and, as a result, its anode potential drops after it occurs. A voltage in the sense of the entered plus and minus signs is thus formed at the resistor 29, so that the cathode potential of the tube 14 is also reduced. This leads to the onset of an anode current in the blocking rocker tube 14, which initially runs from its anode to earth via resistor 30 and resistor 29 '.
The resulting voltage drop across the resistor 30, which is large compared to the resistor 29, leads to the opening of the rectifier 22, so that the anode current of the blocking oscillator tube then runs through this rectifier, which in combination with the resistor 30 simultaneously controls the control voltage Resistor 29 practically short-circuits. The desired constant voltage pulse is picked up again at the left end of resistor 18.
The circuit arrangement shown in FIG. 4 relates to the control of a multiple visual oscillation generator which, in a manner known per se, consists of two tubes 31, 32 with associated anode resistors 33, 34 and coupling RC elements 35, 36 and 37, 38 consists. The rectifier 22 is located in the cathode lead of the tube 31. 39 denotes a high resistance.
The mode of operation of the arrangement according to FIG. 4 will be explained on the assumption that the tube 31 is currentless and the tube 32 is current-carrying. The control voltage occurs in the resistor 39 in the form of a negative voltage pulse a. This lowers the cathode potential of the tube 31 so that an anode current begins to flow in the tube 31. As a result of the coupling. of
The control grid of the tube 32 with the anode of the tube 31 extinguishes the current in the tube 32 in a known manner. The rapidly increasing anode current of the tube 31 causes a resistor 39 to appear
Voltage drop, which makes the rectifier 22 current-permeable.
Since its internal resistance is small compared to the resistor 39, the control voltage a is practically short-circuited from now on, and the desired constant voltage pulse can be taken from the anode of the tube 31 via the line marked with an arrow. The end of this voltage pulse is determined in a known manner by the disappearance of the voltage on the capacitor 35 and the resulting current consumption in the tube 32.
The embodiment shown in FIG. 5, in which the connections shown in dotted lines and the capacitor 40 shown in dotted lines are initially to be disregarded, shows the use of a rectifier circuit of the type shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 in the screen grid circuit of a barrier tube 41. The reference numerals 15 to 18 have the same meaning as in
1 to 4. The rectifier is denoted by 22, the terminals for the supply of the control voltage are denoted by 23 and a series resistor or the internal resistance of the control voltage source is again denoted by 24.

may be, is raised so that an anode current begins to flow.
This is linked to a screen grid current. which causes a voltage drop across the resistor 24 in the sense of the plus and minus signs entered. This makes the rectifier 22 current-permeable. so that the control voltage is then almost completely applied to the resistor 24 and an almost constant potential is present on the screen grid independently of the further course of the control voltage via the rectifier 22. The anode current pulse therefore takes place almost completely independently of the control voltage b from the start of the current application in the rectifier 22. The desired constant voltage pulse is taken from the left end of the resistor 18 again.
FIG. 6 shows an arrangement in which the control voltage for a blocking oscillator is fed to the anode. The rectifier 22 is located between the positive anode voltage terminal and the primary coil 15 and the resistor 18 is in the cathode feed line of the blocking oscillator element 14.
The circuitry of this tube otherwise corresponds to the arrangements shown above. The terminals 23 for the supply of the control voltage and the resistor 24 are also connected to the rectifier in the same way as described above.
The arrangement according to FIG. 6 operates in such a way that a positive voltage pulse b is supplied to the terminals 23, which renders the tube, which has been blocked until then due to the residual charge on the RC element 17, current-permeable by raising this anode potential. The anode current causes a voltage drop across the resistor 24 in the sense of the plus and minus signs entered, so that the rectifier 22 also begins to conduct current. From now on, the rectifier 22 practically short-circuits the control voltage b again and the anode current flows through the rectifier 22.
At the cathode of the tube 14, from the point in time at which the rectifier 22
Electricity begins to carry. a voltage curve that is almost completely independent of the voltage curve b can be recorded.
According to FIGS. 1 to 6, all flip-flops are designed in such a way that they execute flip-flop oscillations even when the control voltage is absent. In the practical use of flip-flops, a somewhat different mode of operation is occasionally used, namely that in which the flip-flops have such a bias that they only work when one occurs
Control pulse go through a tilting process, but are constantly at rest when these control pulses fail. The application of the invention is also easily possible in this latter case.
For this purpose, point A only has to be connected to a constant negative potential with respect to earth in FIG. 1 and point B to a corresponding positive potential with respect to it in FIGS. 2 to 4
To lay earth. Otherwise, however, the mode of operation of the circuit arrangements remains unchanged.
The invention is also not, as also mentioned at the beginning. on the control of
Blocking oscillators or multiple oscillators limited. Rather, it is possible to operate all toggle switches that have the features specified at the outset according to the principle described and, in particular, toggle switches with grid-controlled gas or steam-filled ones can also be used
Control discharge vessels with arc-like discharge (thyratron) according to the principle described. The circuits according to FIGS. 2, 3 and 6 are readily applicable to multivibrator circuits with such discharge vessels.
As already mentioned at the outset, circuit arrangements of the type described are to be used in particular for synchronizing the line series change in television receivers which operate according to the interlaced method. The deflection in the slow image coordinate can take place by means of any sawtooth generator which requires a negative pulse to initiate it. The input terminal in question then only has to be connected to the supply line marked with an arrow at the negative end of the resistor 18 in FIGS. 1 to 3 and 5 or the resistor 33 in FIG.
Sawtooth generators, which require a positive synchronization pulse, can also be operated, for example, using an inverting stage when using the circuits according to FIGS. 1 to 5. However, for example, the circuit arrangement according to FIG. 6 can also be used and
EMI3.2
has been drawn in with dotted lines how the flip-flop can be combined, for example, with a sawtooth generator of a known type. The capacitor 40 is connected between the left end of the resistor 18 and ground. As long as the tube J. 1 is not carrying any current, the capacitor 40 is charged via the resistor 18 and the potential of its upper occupancy rises according to an exponential function.
As soon as a pulse b occurs, the capacitor is discharged again via the cathode-alode path of the tube 41, so that the potential of its upper occupancy quickly drops again. If the time constant of the circle formed by the resistor 18 and the capacitor 40 is large enough, the potential profile at the top of the capacitor 40 follows a sawtooth curve. This potential fluctuation can then be fed to a push-pull amplifier for balancing the sawtooth curve, for example, via the line drawn in dotted lines and provided with an arrow, or it can be used further in another suitable manner.

EMI4.1
Services according to the invention are also of particular importance because they excellently meet the requirement of generating a return amplitude (amplitude of the rapidly moving sawtooth flank) of a precisely defined size in a sawtooth voltage. This requirement is known to be the only requirement that has to be met in the case of a linear course of the slightly inclined sawtooth flank in order to avoid the mutual displacement of the line series, which is so disruptive in the interlaced process, while the exact timing of the return operation is not important.
The consequence of this is that when a circuit arrangement according to the invention is used, it may be possible to dispense with all those aids on the transmitter side that were previously thought to be necessary in order to produce the same prehistory of the synchronizing pulse for the line series change.
Circuit arrangements according to the invention can also be used with advantage, for example, in the event that a series of pulses is to be produced by means of a perforated disk and a photocell, in which each individual pulse has exactly the same shape. In practice, this is sometimes difficult when using a perforated disc, as the individual holes are somewhat different in size or are partially clogged by dust deposits. These irregularities can be almost completely eliminated by a circuit arrangement according to the invention, since the curve shape of the control voltage is no longer important in the invention.
The invention can also be used, for example, for synchronizing the line change in the known television method in which the sync pulse for the slow picture coordinate is provided with interruptions in such a way that the line deflection generator is constantly kept in step. In this case one speaks of the fact that the sync pulse for the slow image coordinate consists of a number of extended line pulses. One can convert these extended line pulses, which are necessary for the synchronization of the slow picture coordinate there, for the synchronization of the line coordinate with a circuit according to the invention without difficulty into pulses which run exactly like the normal line pulses.
The operation of the line deflection generator then also takes place during the synchronization of the generator for the slow coordinate in exactly the same way as during the arrival of the usual line pulses.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Circuit arrangement for generating a preferably periodically occurring current or voltage curve in multivibrators by means of given control currents or voltages, in particular for application to the synchronization of the line series change in television receivers for interlaced transmission, characterized in that shortly after the onset of the current or voltage curve in the trigger circuit, the amplitude of the control current or the control voltage is reduced entirely or almost to zero.
