Valve cone for shut-off devices, preferably water posts, with automatic drainage device.
- It is known to use movable, loosely inserted sealing washers made of elastic building material in water posts to cover and release drainage openings in appropriately designed recesses in the valve cone. These Diehtungsseheiben have the shape of a bowl with a thin bottom and a flange-like edge and are inserted into a corresponding recess in the valve cone. The flange-like edge engages behind the edge of the recess and thus secures the sealing washer against falling out.
The cup shape and the thin base therefore had to be provided in order to be able to insert the sealing washer into the correspondingly designed recess of the valve cone because of its flange-like edge; because only this design allows the change in shape or compression of this sealing washer required for the introduction. The shape of the sealing washer as a bowl with a thin bottom and flange-like edge requires, compared to the previously used, simple shapes with full cross-section sealing washers with full cross-section, an increasingly expensive special production, quite apart from the production of the corresponding recess in the valve cone, which is also expensive at work.
In order to exclude the expensive custom manufacture of the valve cone because of the specially designed sealing washer, the loosely insertable sealing washer for the drainage opening, made of elastic building material, carries a round bolt with a flat head offset by 900 relative to the longitudinal axis of the sealing washer.
In the drawing, FIG. 1 shows a valve cone with the generally customary recess for receiving the sealing washer according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows the sealing washer in position before its introduction into the usual shape, FIG. 3 shows the sealing washer in the valve cone recess introduced and FIG. 4 the sealing washer after
Rotation finally inserted into the valve cone recess and secured against accidental falling out.
The sealing washer a has a round bolt a2 which forms a whole with it and which ends in a flat head a3. The area of this flat head a3 is smaller than that of the opening bl, so that the former can be introduced through the opening bl. The longitudinal axis of the flat head a3 is offset by 900 with respect to the longitudinal axis of the sealing washer a.
The introduction and securing of the sealing washer a in the valve cone recess proceeds as follows: The flat head a3 is inserted through the narrow slot bl of the recess b (Fig. 3), the sealing washer a, which forms a whole, is then rotated by 90 and then raised further into the recess b (FIG. 4) so that it fills the recess b. The sealing washer a is then inserted into the usual valve cone recess b in a loosely movable manner and at the same time protected against accidental falling out.
