The invention relates to a device by means of which the switching on and off of the incandescent lamps can be effected in the simplest way by axial adjustment of the latter. For this purpose, the usual socket for the incandescent lamp base is replaced by a conductive sleeve covered with an outer insulating layer, one end of which is provided with a corresponding internal thread of the incandescent lamp base can be screwed in, while the other sleeve end with a permanently attached insulation body carrying the resilient connection contacts is rotatably connected that when the sleeve is rotated, an axial adjustment of the same including the incandescent lamp in one direction or the other takes place at the same time.
Since one of the two connection contacts now rests on the inner surface of the sleeve, while the other connection contact is arranged opposite the center contact of the bulb base, this center contact, depending on whether the sleeve is rotated in one direction or the other, comes into contact with the connection contacts belonging to the dome brought or lifted from the same, d. H. the lamp on or off.
In FIGS. 1 and 2 of the accompanying drawing, such an on and off device for an incandescent lamp is in CLOSED. i mutually perpendicular sections and partly shown in the view, the incandescent lamp being switched on in FIG. 1 and switched off in FIG. 2. As can be seen, the conventionally set up foot a of the incandescent lamp is screwed into the end b of a sleeve c, which is provided with a corresponding internal thread, and the other end d, which is also provided with an internal thread, is screwed onto a body made of porcelain or another insulator and provided with a corresponding external thread f is screwed on.
The latter is firmly connected to the chandelier or wall arm that supports the whole system and has a central cavity / 1 through which the
Lead wires g are inserted. At the Unter-bozw. Inner surface of the insulator. r, two spring contacts <and i connected to these lead wires 9 are attached, from

the other resilient contact i is arranged opposite the center contact j of the bulb base a. The sleeve c is coated on the outside with an insulating layer, for example with a layer of enamel or lacquer, in order not to lead to any current discharge when the sleeve is touched. As soon as the sleeve c is far enough on the insulator f

is switched.
If the sleeve c is unscrewed a little, the center contact i is lifted from the contact i (FIG. 2), whereby the current interruption hezw. Switching off the lamp is effected.
