Arrangement for stabilizing DC or AC voltages by means of a hot conductor.

It has already been proposed that heat conductors, i.e. H. Resistors with negative temperature coefficients can be used to stabilize DC or AC voltages. In order to achieve the greatest possible stabilization, it is advantageous to use hot conductors that have a current-voltage characteristic that has a horizontal profile in a larger area that is to be used for stabilization purposes. In the area of the horizontal current-voltage characteristic, the voltage drop across the resistor is practically constant despite the changing current strength.

Various materials have already been proposed in order to influence the characteristic curve of hot conductors in such a way that a predetermined course is achieved. According to the invention it is proposed, in order to achieve a horizontal current-voltage characteristic, a hot conductor material made of oxides, e.g. B. uranium oxide, chromium oxide or molybdenum oxide, consists of adding one or more oxides of the second group of the periodic table, possibly also titanium or zirconium oxide, in such amounts that the mechanical properties and the melting point of the oxide mixture do not change significantly, d. H. in amounts of 9 to 16%. The addition of 9-16% calcium oxide has proven to be particularly useful.

According to the further invention, the calcium oxide is not added directly, but as calcium carbonate, the latter only changing into calcium oxide when the resistor body is sintered in a reducing atmosphere.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Thermistor produced by sintering an oxide mixture to achieve a horizontal current-voltage characteristic, characterized in that one or more oxides of the second group of the periodic table are added in quantities of 9 to 16% to an oxide such as uranium oxide, chromium oxide or molybdenum oxide.
