Mennige, erhebliche Vorteile aufweist.

Process for the production of lead glazes.
The invention relates to a method for the production of lead glazes, in particular for ceramic purposes, and aims to produce such glazes of excellent quality using a material as the lead-containing starting material which, compared to the previously used for these
Purposes used artificially produced pure lead oxides, namely in particular black lead and
Red lead, has significant advantages. In particular, according to the invention as a carrier of the
Lead product to be used lead can be produced extremely cheaply and, apart from this, ensures the production of a lead glaze with excellent properties.
If it is taken into account that the price of lead glazes depends almost exclusively on that of the lead constituent used, this already shows the importance of this process, which makes it possible to use a considerably cheaper product instead of the expensive black lead or red lead .
This material is the lead rod, which is produced by fine grinding of metallic lead with the admission of air, for example in ball or drum mills, and which is made from a mixture of metallic lead
There is lead with lead of lesser or greater degree oxidized lead.
Depending on the requirements of the individual case, the degree of oxidation can be regulated by suitable control of the grinding process, for example through the action of an air inflow that may need to be artificially increased, as well as the heat of the grinding.
The product obtained in this way can be used both on its own and in a mixture with the lead-containing materials previously used in glaze offsets, such as smoothness or red lead, or with lead-containing waste products from the battery industry, and in each of these cases is introduced directly into the glaze offsets.
In the case of fire or frying, the metallic lead such as lead oxides is completely converted into lead silicate. This complete implementation, especially of the metallic lead, can be ensured by appropriate management of the fritting process.
In the eventual mixing of the lead or Lead oxide dust with other lead-containing substances proceeded in such a way that the lead content of the mixture corresponds to that of the usually used red lead, so that in given offsets equal parts by weight of red lead can be replaced by equal parts by weight of such a mixture, with the result that when an existing glaze offsets are changed on the material to be used according to the invention, fundamental changes to the offset do not need to be made.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A process for the production of lead glazes, characterized in that the lead-containing glaze offsetting component is the powdery material which is produced in the fine grinding of metallic lead with access to air, for example in ball or drum mills, as such is introduced directly into the glaze offsetting.
