   Bekanntlich werden Eisenfässer (Barrels) dadurch verschlossen, dass in das Spundloch ein Spund eingeschraubt wird. Der Spund hat aussen eine sich in der Mitte des Spundes befindliche Ausnehmung von quadratischem, rechteckigem oder dreieckigem Querschnitt, in welche ein   Spundschlüssel   von gleichem Querschnitt eingebracht werden kann. Da aber der Querschnitt der Ausnehmung je nach Herkunft des Fabrikats verschieden ist, so müssten jeweils immer die verschiedenen Schlüsseltypen zur Hand sein. 



  Da dies aber meistens nicht der Fall ist, so wird das Barrel dadurch geöffnet, dass man sich eines Meissels und eines Hammers bedient. Dass hiedurch das Barrel Schaden leidet, ist ohne weiteres klar. Es soll nunmehr ein   Schlüssel   geschaffen werden, mittels dessen alle Arten von Eisenfässern leicht geöffnet werden können, ohne dass hiedurch das Barrel   beschädigt wird.   Ausserdem soll mittels des neuen Spundschlüssels der Spund auch wieder verschlossen werden können. 



   Der erfindungsgemässe Spundschlüssel besteht aus einem Flacheisen (Fig. 1 und 2), an dessen einem Ende auf der Breitseite ein Kegelstumpf a sitzt. Auf der gleichen Seite des Flacheisen befindet sich in einem Abstande vom Kegelstumpf ein exzentrisch und drehbar gelagertes gezahntes Rad b, wobei dieser Abstand durch die. Spundgrösse bestimmt ist. 



   Der Vorgang beim Öffnen eines Spundes ist nun der, dass der Kegelstumpf a in die Ausnehmung beim Spund eingebracht wird, was eben durch die Form des Stumpfes bei allen Spunden möglich ist. 



  Dadurch, dass das Zahnrad exzentrisch gelagert ist, kann nun der Spundschlüssel nur so weit gedreht werden, bis sich das Zahnrad selbst hemmt. Bei weiterem Drehen wird der Spund durch den   Schlüssel   mitgenommen und dadurch geöffnet. Der Vorgang in umgekehrter Richtung tritt ein beim Schliessen des Spunde.
