Connector for Mebrfaebrobre.
In the construction of instruments and apparatus, multiple tubes of smaller diameter are often used, which consist of individual wires combined by a common coating.
Such a combination of individual tubes to form a tube bundle offers numerous advantages which are essentially only offset by the disadvantage that the connection of two such tube bundles to one another or to the instrument in question causes difficulties. These mainly consist in the fact that in all of the methods that have been used up to now the common coating has to be removed over a considerable length and reapplied after the connection of the wires with considerable expenditure of time and money. The multiple pipe becomes very extensive and rigid at the joint, which is sometimes very annoying when it is being laid.
The present invention avoids these inconveniences in that a connecting piece is used in which the sealing of the individual channels against each other and to the outside is effected by cutting.
The sealing of single pipe connections by a cutting edge is already known. So far there was no corresponding construction for connecting multiple pipes.
In Figs. 1 and 2, an embodiment for a double pipe connection is shown.
1 is one coupling half with two concentrically arranged cutting edges 2 and 3. The other coupling half 4 is designed as a sleeve. The wires 5 and 6 of the double pipe are fastened in the bores 7 and 8 of the coupling halves 1 and 4 by soldering or welding. The connection is made in such a way that the coupling part is screwed to part 4 (Fig. 2), so that the cutting edges 2 and 3 press into the surface 9 and thus effect the seal. The flow takes place through the bores 7, 7 a and 8.
This type of coupling has the advantage that it can be loosened and reassembled without damaging the lines. Furthermore, only a short piece of the common coating of the pipes needs to be removed. The multiple tube therefore loses almost nothing of its flexibility.
Naturally, other design options are also conceivable. For example, both pipe ends can be provided with a coupling part similar to 1, in which case the connection can be made by a sleeve screwed over both parts with a right-hand and left-hand thread (FIG. 3).
The coupling parts can also be fastened and pressed on in any other way, for example by means of a union nut according to FIG. 4.
