Closed fuse for high currents with identification device.
The invention relates to closed fuses for high currents and consists in the particularly useful and simple design of the cartridge body of the contact fittings and their attachment, as well as the appropriate arrangement of the Kennvorriehtung.
According to the invention, the melting space for the closed fuse is expanded in the middle while maintaining the otherwise usual outer diameter, so that the cartridge body has ring-shaped reinforcements at the ends, which are used to attach the contact fittings by means of screws, bolts or the like.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the ring-shaped reinforcement on the end faces of the cartridge body serves to accommodate a marker body bearing.
In the drawing, the invention is shown for example.
Figs. 1-5 show the cartridge body and the type of attachment of the contact fitting. From Fig. 6 the arrangement of a marker body bearing in the reinforcements of the cartridge body can be seen.
In Fig. 1, a denotes the cartridge body made of, for example, ceramic material, the bore of which is bulged in its central part, so that two ring-shaped thickenings b1, b2 inwardly arise at the ends. This means that in the middle part, where the main arc occurs when the fuse is switched off, the walls of the cartridge body are as far away as possible from this arc and are thus removed from its harmful effects. This arc is not so strong at the ends of the cartridge body; as a result, the rings bl, b2 are not so endangered. These rings also allow particularly simple shapes of the contact fittings to be selected.
In addition, the gas seal is very easy to achieve. This is because the contact fittings can now take the form of essentially flat, circular metal plates which are connected to the cartridge body by means of screws or bolts. The screws or bolts can be

will. In Fig. 1, top left, a thread is cut directly into the ring bl into which the screw e is screwed. In the same figure, another type of fastening is shown at the top right.
A threaded bushing e1 for the screw e is pressed into a recess. The contact plate can also be fastened in such a way that it has flaps which are unwound at its edges and which are anchored in corresponding depressions in the rings b1, b2. The sealing of the contact caps c against the bearing surfaces of the rings gt, g2 is done in a simple manner by sandwiching a thin sealing washer d, for example made of asbestos. The contact plate can have suitable recesses for attaching interruption alarms. Furthermore, a closable and possibly sealable filler opening g is expediently prescribed for the, for example, powdery filler.
The design of the cartridge body according to the invention is particularly easy when using press material made of synthetic resin press materials, since this allows the production of such undercut shapes.
A particular advantage of the design according to the invention is that the fuses can easily be repaired, which is of particular value in the case of expensive constructions for high currents.
In order to prevent unauthorized opening of the cartridges, the fastening screws for the contact plates can be sealed. Simple embodiments for this are shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. For example, according to FIG. 2, the head of the fastening screw is countersunk in the contact plate, which above

The recess is closed with putty bearing a stamp. A disc made of metal or other suitable material with a special identification mark can also be attached. In Fig. 3, a hole engaging in the screw head is made in the contact plate, in which a plug, for example a grub screw hood with a slot subsequently closed by soldering or the like, is inserted.
In Fig. 4 a further embodiment is shown how the contact fitting e can be attached to the cartridge body a. The metal ring o is arranged on the wreath-shaped thickening and is firmly connected to the body a. In the case of a porcelain body, this connection takes place in that the lugs p sitting on the ring o are cemented or otherwise fastened into the body a or, in the case of a body made of insulating molding compound, are pressed in during manufacture.
For the attachment of the metal ring 0 either individual attachments can be arranged on this or a corrugated ring can be provided. which is cemented or pressed into the body a.
The contact fitting c is then pressed against the cartridge body a by screws e with the interposition of locking washers d. The fastening of the metal ring o can take place, in particular in the case of a cartridge body made of insulating molding compound, in that the metal ring o is pressed into the cartridge body through recesses or undercuts.
To reinforce cartridge bodies made from molding compound, it is also advantageous to press metal reinforcements into the molding compound in the longitudinal direction or in the form of a ring, or both, in a similar way to the production of reinforced concrete.

with the interposition of glass washers d the metal fittings c. The fittings e are held by the inserts h, which have corresponding recesses with the approaches bl, b2. passed between these and, after a certain rotation, pressed in by tightening the screws e.
The arrangement can also be such that only the indentations bi, b2 are provided with recesses, while the extensions form a full ring. When inserting the inserts h are first placed on edge and then rotated by 900 after being pushed through so that they can now be pressed from the inside against the shoulders, b2.
The design of the cartridge body according to the invention allows a particularly advantageous arrangement of an identification device with a spring body in those cases where this identification device has to be arranged laterally so that it is visible from the lateral surface. Since an identification device with a spring body always requires a certain depth of the identification body bearing, it is expediently accommodated in one of the rings b1 or b2 in the present case. An embodiment is shown in FIG.
A represents a piece of the cartridge body in longitudinal section, bl in cross section through one of the ring-shaped reinforcements, i is a recess arranged perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cartridge body, which is covered airtight to the outside by the transparent window k.
As is known, the jumping character n is held by the identification wire m.
