Fig. 1 veranschaulicht z.

<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Device for influencing controlled discharge vessels from several points.
It is known that grid-controlled discharge vessels can be regulated by changing the phase position of the control voltage. In multi-phase systems, such a shift in the control voltage phase takes place e.g. B. with the help of rotary controls. It is also known to have such a control done automatically by any relay or similar devices and thus to achieve a constant terminal voltage, constant current intensity or any other desired current voltage characteristic. On the other hand, it has only been possible until now with the help of complicated coupling devices to make a regulation possible from several different points, or to superimpose the effect of several regulating devices.
According to the invention, this can now be achieved in a very simple manner by providing a series connection of several devices influencing the phase of the control voltage. Fig. 1 illustrates e.g. B. the series connection of two rotary controls for a grid-controlled three-phase rectifier. It is clear that the rectifier can be regulated from both rotary controls, regardless of the respective position of the other.
Another arrangement is shown in FIG. 2, in which two grid-controlled rectifiers 1 and 1I

dine (Fig. 3). Regulator J and B then influences each voltage individually, while regulator C can compensate for common voltage fluctuations.

Suddenly switch off the short circuit and then regulate it back to the original voltage. This process is referred to as a quick shutdown followed by restarting and should usually take place completely automatically.
However, special precautions are necessary
EMI1.3
Correspondingly, there are now also two rotary controls. 1 and B connected in series, of which. 1 is used to set the desired voltage, while controller B is activated in the event of a short circuit and the associated blocking caused by another device and only when activated
EMI1.4
Voltage from zero to the original voltage determined by the regulator that remains idle is ensured in a safe and simple manner.
According to the invention, a device can be provided which, in the event of a fault, automatically blocks by changing the grid bias voltage and at the same time activates the rotary control B, the latter e.g. B. by a relay which responds to the additional grid bias. Fig. 4 shows, for example, such a circuit, ss! is a direct current source with strongly falling voltage characteristics; the increase in the negative grid bias necessary for blocking is achieved by opening contact K by means of an overcurrent relay Up. In addition to the main winding, this also has a holding winding, which is connected to voltage when contact K is opened and thus keeps it open even after the main current has disappeared.
Likewise, the rotation of the rotary control B is initiated by the voltage drop at 12 via the relay R. If this has completed a phase rotation of about 180, so that the rectifier is safely blocked even with normal bias, the switch K z. B. by a contact ', which the holding winding or the contact K
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
temporarily short-circuits, closed, which also causes relay R to drop out, which caused regulator B to rotate. The drive of this controller is, however, set up in the usual way so that it can only end its movement when it is back in its starting position. This requirement is z.
B. fulfilled by suitable arrangements, similar to the known devices for tap changers for transformers and battery cell switches, which may only remain at the contact and not in the intermediate positions, otherwise the transformer stages or the battery cell would be permanently short-circuited. The controller B continues to turn and, by approaching the starting position again, is intended to gradually increase the temperature to the previous operating state. It is essential that the rotary control is moved in such a way that the regulated voltage increases.
An expedient, simplifying development of the concept of the invention results from the constructive combination of the rotary controls connected in series to form a system. In this case, the stator can also be rotated and takes over the additional field rotation that is otherwise to be carried out by the upstream rotary control.
