In Fig. 3

<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

to be clearly adjustable (e.g. for quality meters).
In the case of magnetic motor meters in particular, the following measure can be used for this purpose according to the invention:
It is known that magnetic motor meters (Fig. 1) work in such a way that the consumer current is passed through a shunt resistor ss of constant size. The changing power generated by the consumer

The armature current il, interacting with the armature resistance r, produces the voltage loss iK. The differential voltage Es-i "r" thus remains to maintain the rotation. The armature will adopt the speed that is necessary to induce an "Es-ir" opposite voltage of the same magnitude in the armature.

According to the invention, the armature resistance is now made variable according to its size. In Fig. 3

of the load current J reached (Fig. 3 layers 1 ', 1, 1 ").
In contrast to other known arrangements of a similar type, in which armature series resistors are used to change the counter constant, here, according to the preceding derivations, the current flow of the stationary armature is influenced, while the influence of the resistors on the armature speed is very small, but in no way constantly changing is. The prerequisites for the effectiveness of the subject matter of the invention are given, for example, with unbraked high-speed magnetic motor meters.
In order to enable the setting of the start-up current, and thus the start-up of the meter itself, also for higher values of the load current J, an additional mechanical load of the armature that is only effective in the idle state can be provided. For this purpose (FIG. 2) a check flag Fe, known per se, made of magnetizable material is provided, which is attached to the armature axis and which according to the invention rotates continuously in the field of the permanent magnet. When the current is switched off, this flag will twist the armature so that it moves in the direction of the magnetic force flow.
When the armature is rotating, the decelerating and accelerating magnetic forces exerted on the flag in the course of a full revolution almost cancel each other out. For start-up, on the other hand, it does not matter in which position the flag is attached to the armature windings, since the torque of the armature is subject to periodic fluctuations which are caused by the change in the angle of the coil plane relative to the plane of the force line.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
This can also be used to change the initial limit by rotating the flag around the counter axis. The start-up is then adjusted by changing the armature resistance.
The check flag can expediently be resolved into a star (Fig. 2) in order to compensate for the lateral tensile forces on the anchor as much as possible.
