Viewers are made visible, but not images that appear panorama-like and that z. B. enable the representation of crowd scenes in a panoramic, three-dimensional manner. The latter method of representation requires lined up, complementary images that were recorded of adjacent landscape details from different viewing directions, as is the case when looking at a landscape by turning the head on the part of the viewer.
The invention now enables such a panorama-like reproduction of moving images and consists in the fact that several adjoining projection surfaces are provided, onto which several complementary images are projected by several synchronously driven projection apparatus.
The adjoining projection surfaces expediently form obtuse angles with one another and the angles are rounded off at the points of contact between the projection surfaces.
The one from such, projected by several projection apparatuses, panorama-like complementary overall picture recording can also run over approximately half the circumference of the inner side wall of a circular building.
The invention is shown in the drawing in an exemplary embodiment and shows FIG. 1 a plan view and FIG. 2 a section through a cinema room with the inventive arrangement of the projection surfaces.
On both sides of the middle projection surface opposite the projection apparatus Am and irradiated by it, the projection surfaces Sl and Sr, of which the surface S! from the projection apparatus Ar and the surface Sr is irradiated by the projection apparatus Al.
The surfaces Sl and Sr abut on the middle projection surface at obtuse angles.
A film is projected in the usual way with the middle projection apparatus Am. If the course of the action shown by the film is transformed into a mass scene, the projection apparatuses Al and Ar are put into operation and project the side images supplementing the middle image onto the projection surfaces Sl and Sr simultaneously and synchronously with the course of the middle film in such a way that the images projected onto the three contiguous projection surfaces look to complement an overall image with a panoramic effect.
For this purpose, the three projection apparatuses Am, Ar and Al are driven synchronously so that the complementary images of the films used in the three projection apparatuses reach the lenses of the three projection apparatuses at the same time.
If the cinema is designed in the form of a rotunda, the total projection area composed of the three projection surfaces can extend over half or approximately half the circumference of the inner side wall of the rotunda, u. with a viewing angle of 120 to 180.
