EMI1.1
The invention relates to a compass with a sighting device which is used for orientation both on the map and in the field. The invention consists in that a window is arranged below the sighting device on the compass housing through which the angular graduation attached to the edge of the box-shaped wind rose can be read at the same time as the sighted point of the terrain.
As a result, compared to the known compasses with a sighting device, in which the angular graduation on the wind rose has to be read off by an inclined mirror, the advantage is achieved that shading and distortion of the angular graduation by the mirror is avoided.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention in FIG. 1 in section along A-B (FIG. 3), in FIG. 2 from the side and in FIG. 3 from above.
The compass housing e carries the setting edge g necessary for orientation on the map as well as the grains c and d which are used for sighting a point in the area. The wind rose a connected to the compass needle b is rotatably mounted in the housing. The angle division w of the compass rose plays under the reading mark f, which is arranged in the connecting line of the two sighting fronts. The compass rose is box-shaped and has a second division M 'on the cylindrical edge, which is offset by 180 degrees with respect to the division w. The angular graduation 10 'is read in a window e' which is also offset by 180 degrees with respect to the reading mark f for the graduation w.
The window e 'is located directly below the front sight e, so that when aiming at a point in the area by means of the sight fronts c and d, the angular graduation 10' on the cylindrical edge of the box-shaped wind rose can be read simultaneously and without the aid of a mirror.
