Um das Suchen einer bestimmten Seite in Büchern, welches für den Sucher mit Zeitverlust und für Bücher, die in dauernder Benutzung stehen, mit einer ungewöhnlichen Abnutzung verbunden ist, bei geringstem Zeitaufwand und unter Schonung der Bücher zu ermöglichen, ist eine Vorrichtung vorgesehen, welche zufolge ihrer Ausbildung geeignet ist, unter einem für jedes Buch, ohne Rücksicht auf die Blattstärke und die in demselben vorhandene Blattanzahl, verwendet zu werden und den Benutzer

Den Gegenstand der Erfindung bildet die konstruktive Durchbildung einer Vorrichtung zum raschen Auffinden einer bestimmten Buchseite. Erfindungsgemäss ist eine an dem einen Buchdeckel angebrachte Schiene und ein an dieser befestigter und parallel zum Buchschnitt gerichteter Ständer vorgesehen.
Zwischen Schiene und Ständer ist ein quer über sämtliche Blätter des Buches gespanntes und der Blattanzahl entsprechend verlängerbares Messband angeordnet, auf welchem ein verschiebbarer, mit einem Stift versehener Reiter sitzt.
Ein Ausführungsbeispiel ist an einer Zeichnung in den Fig. 1, 2 und 3 (Fig. 3 ist ein Schnitt nach der Linie A-B der Fig. 2) veranschaulicht.
Die Skalenteilung, respektive das Messband M ist innerhalb eines aus einer Schiene Seh und einem Ständer St bestehenden Rahmens derart montiert, dass der Teilstrich 0 des Messbandes am oberen Rande des genannten Ständers und dessen der Blattanzahl jeweils entsprechende Ende an einer innerhalb eines Gehäuses G gelegenen, in Rillen Ri verschiebbaren Rolle R fixiert ist. Der Ständer St ist an der Schiene Sch befestigt und besteht aus zwei der Stärke des Buches B entsprechend ineinander verschiebbaren Teilen.
Die Rolle R ist über einer Welle W, welche durch einen Anschlag A gegen das Herausziehen aus dem Wellenlager Wl gesiehert ist, geführt. Das Messband M wird durch Drehung der genannten Welle der Blattanzahl des Buches B entsprechend unter gleichzeitiger Verschiebung des Gehäuses G verlängert bzw. verkürzt. Nach entsprecherder Einstellung des Messbandes M wird das Gehäuse G durch innerhalb der Rillen Ri geführte Schräubchen Sehr arretiert, wodurch das Messbard M gleichzeitig

genommen. Längs des Messbandes M ist ein Reiter Rt mit einer zylindrischen, sektorartigen Ausnehmung am oberen Rande desselben als Führung für einen Stift Sti verschiebbar angebracht.

Das der jeweiligen Blattanzahl entsprechend eingestellte Messband M wird, sämtliche Blätter des Buches B überquerend, durch den Rahmen längs der Schiene Beh an den Deckel D des Buches B angelegt. Um die Verwendbarkeit dieser Vorrichtung von etwaigen Differenzen zwischen der Höhe des Deckels D und jener der Schiene Beh unabhängig zu machen, wird letztere mit einem gegen das Buch B gerichteten und längs der Oberkante des Deckels verschiebbaren Flanschteile versehen. Wird eine bestimmte Blattseite gesucht, so wird der Reiter Rt am Messband M entsprechend eingestellt und der Stift Sti sodann durch die angeführte zylindrische Ausnehmung am Reiter Rt in das Buch B gesteckt.
Hiebei können nach der Teilung des Messbandes M jede fünfte Seite direkt und zahlenmässig dazwischenliegerde Seiten durch interpoliererde Einstellung des Reiters Rt innerhalb 5 des Teilungsintervalls am Messbard ermittelt werden.
