<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

be arranged reinforcing additional plate made of hard metal. On the other hand, the slide plate can in turn be reinforced by ribs produced in particular by means of punching and bending.
In the case of the known release of the fixing lug from its opening by means of a release angle of suitable dimensions, the distance between the raised edge of the resilient fixing lug from the heel chest is dimensioned in the tread according to the invention in such a way that when one leg is pushed open this angle onto the heel chest the other leg of the release bracket fully grasps the nose.
The retaining plate and slide plate are made in particular from sheet metal, the insulating plate is made from fiber, and the tread is made from rubber or another suitable material.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the convertible and interchangeable heel according to the invention, for example.
1 is a diagram of the tread with the slide plate vulcanized into it, FIG. 2 is a diagram of the slide plate alone, FIG. 3 is a diagram of the associated holding plate which is to be attached to the heel mirror. 4 is a diagram of the left tread half cut perpendicularly along line 7-7 of FIGS. 1-3 with the slide plate vulcanized therein and the retaining plate inserted. Fig. 5 is a vertical cross-section along line II-11 (fixing nose part) of Fig. 1-4 and shows the special design of the connection between the retaining plate and the slide plate by means of a tongue and groove. 6 and 7 are a longitudinal section and a cross section through the tread along line ici and line ici-111 of Figs. 1-4.
8 is a part of a longitudinal section along line II of FIGS. 1-4 together with the set release angle, and FIG. 9 is a diagram of the release angle according to FIG.
A slide plate b is vulcanized into a rubber tread a. On the other hand, a holding plate c is attached to the heel of the shoe. Both parts of the collar fit into one another like a tongue and groove.
In order to achieve a safe and precise fit that does not become jammed or stuck due to dirt, corrosion and rust and easy detachment of its parts, in the exemplary embodiment the fit is only found on the outer joint edge d of the slide plate b and the inner spring edge e of the retaining plate c instead, while for the rest, for example, the spring g entering into the groove f has free play in this groove.
In order to achieve complete sealing of the running stain a with respect to the outer edges of the heel, the outer wall of the running stain a, as indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIGS pressed onto the heel of the shoe.
This edge is also held down and stiffened by claw-like teeth, which in turn unite the edges both in the horizontal and in the vertical direction

executed, so that when the running mark a is released, it is completely detached from the retaining plate e due to the slightest backward movement of the slide plate b, which is only seated on the straight edges.
EMI2.2
Mating edges snap into a recess i of the retaining plate c metal nose k of the slide plate b.
This nose is not resilient in itself, so that it cannot slowly give in to deflection in spite of its necessary smallness and the consequent corresponding stress on deflection, but rather the slide plate b springs through in its entire width. However, so that the resilience is not too strong when the material is sufficiently strong, it is expediently given a recess 1 or a corresponding incision across the nose k, so that the suspension then takes place through a web in or the front part of the slide plate b.
So that the leading edges can easily be pushed into one another with the aid of the excellent fixing lug Je when the running mark a is applied without long searching and fumbling, the retaining plate e is provided with a second opening n, in addition to the opening i for the snapping-in fixing lug k, into which initially when inserting the fixing lug k is sunk. The guide edges or the bevels of the lateral fitting edges are related to this second opening in such a way that the groove f and the tongue g do not initially engage when the nose k is inserted into this additional opening.
Rather, this happens only when the tread a is further advanced before the nose k runs onto the edge o of the holding plate e, so that in this way the slide plate b and the holding plate c necessarily fit into one another.
The holding plate c can of course also be solid.
However, in order to prevent harmful corrosion processes and thus seizing of the parts, the metal parts of the slide plate b and the retaining plate c are expediently isolated from one another by a non-metallic plate p recessed within a narrow fitting edge in the retaining plate e and thus only touch each other in the fit . However, so that the fixing lug k rests on metal in the opening), a metal edge q of the retaining plate c protrudes in this up to the upper surface of the insulating plate p.
The same purpose can be achieved by a rubber lining r covering the gate valve plate b, which in turn also acts as a seal. However, this does not reduce the overall height of the tread a in terms of the rubber's wear density, because this covering is kept as thin as possible. In order to avoid a risk of flaking or the slicing of the covering f when the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
To prevent running marks a, the grain tips or elevations s provided on the slide plate b pass through this covering and limit it to the outside.
Holes t allow the temporary fastening of the retaining plate c after aligning the tread edges with those of the heel by first inserting two headless nails or piercing these holes on the heel. So that the holes t do not act as harmful dirt channels to the inner parts of the slide plate b and the retaining plate c, as in the case of the known, completely through holes, they are only carried out as far as wear on the rubber stain a comes into question. The remaining part is only pierced with an awl when the fastening is carried out, so that it closes again automatically afterwards due to the elasticity of the rubber.
If the holding plate c is designed with an insulating filler plate p, the plate c, which is embossed from thin metal, has a thin insert u made of hard metal under the insulating plate p to stiffen the fitting edges in order to absorb the bumps when walking.
Ribs 1 'embossed into the slide also serve to stiffen the outer fitting edges.
A release angle w is used for easier and quick removal of the running mark a.
The effect of this release angle is as follows:
The release angle w is wider than the recess j for the fixing lug, and one leg x of the angle M 'is so long that when there is a need to clamp this leg between the holding plate c and the slide plate b, the fixing lug is removed from it by pushing the other angle leg y onto the heel face associated recess is excavated and so the triggering of the running mark a can take place. The release angle w, on the other hand, expediently has a bevel z for the purpose of easier intermediate wedging. A special feed channel would be exposed to contamination and is therefore avoided.
