Nach zweitägigem Stehen bei Zimmertemperatur ist der Gehalt an titrierbarem Formaldehyd von rund 6 Volumprozent auf rund % Volumprozent herabgegangen. Die Viskosität und das Aussehen der Lösung haben sich kaum verändert. Die Lösung kann nun eingedampft und in passender Weise auf Lacke oder Kunststoffe verarbeitet werden.
Beispiel 2 : In 300 Teile einer nach Beispiel 1 erhaltenen Kondensationslösung werden nach Neutralisation mit Natronlauge 30 Teile Thioharnstoff eingetragen und die erhaltene Lösung 2 Stunden auf dem Wasserbad auf etwa 600 erwärmt. Der Gehalt an titrierbarem Formaldehyd ist von etwa 6 Volum- prózent auf 0-8 Volumprozent zurückgelangen, die Löslichkeit und Viskosität der Lösung ist jedoch gegenüber der Ausgangskondensationslösung unverändert geblieben. Die Aufarbeitung der Lösung erfolgt wie im Beispiel 1.
