<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Switching mechanism driven by an auxiliary motor for starting and regulating motors.

<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Drive motors become unusable. These disadvantages cannot be eliminated even by using a fine level control.
In order to avoid them, it is sufficient according to the invention to design the switching mechanism control in such a way that the switching speed can be increased above its normal operating value. Is this control of the switching speed z. B. made dependent on the rear derailleur. in accordance with the task at hand, the switching speed only needs to be increased in the first switching stages.
The switching speed can be increased by increasing the speed of the auxiliary motor driving the switching mechanism. However, it can also be brought about by changing the gear ratio when a variable translation between the drive motor and the switching mechanism is switched on.
In the drawing, for example, the circuit of an automatically driven switchgear control for an electric locomotive is shown. The circuit diagram contains only part of the entire locomotive circuit. All alternating current circuits as well as the machines and apparatus operated with alternating current are not shown.
The master rollers, which control the automatic drive of the switchgear, are designated by 1. Five different switching stages are provided on the master roller.
The normal operating position corresponds to level 0. In this position, the drive of the switching mechanism is switched off so that the motors connected to voltage run at constant speed. At level I, the switch gear drive is switched on so that the switch gear is driven at normal starting speed, so that the acceleration of the motors also has a normal value. In the position of the shift drum designated by 11, the switching mechanism drive motor is switched on in such a way that the shift drum is rotated backwards and, as a result, the acceleration of the drive motors is reduced. If the shift drum is shifted to the position marked IV, all the shifting elements are switched off.
After switching off, the automatic switching mechanism goes back to the zero position by itself without a special switching process being required. By switching on the switching stage marked III, the drive motor of the switching mechanism is also switched on in the forward direction of rotation, but the drive motor of the switching mechanism runs at increased speed on this switching stage.
Of the other devices of the switching mechanism control, the auxiliary control roller is designated with 2, which is driven by the switching mechanism drive motor 3. With the auxiliary control drum 2, a cam drum 20 for actuating the main stage contactors, through which the motors are connected to the taps of the step transformer, not shown, is coupled. The field winding of the drive motor 3 is denoted by 4. 5 denotes a brake magnet, by means of which the switching mechanism drive motor can be stopped immediately after switching off the armature current. The reversing relay 6, which is controlled by the master roller 1, serves to reverse the direction of rotation of the switching mechanism drive motor 3 when the switching mechanism is switched forwards or backwards.
By means of an auxiliary relay 7, the resistor 8 switched on in the armature circuit of the switchgear drive motor 3 can be made ineffective when the master roller is switched on in position-S7, i.e. when the switchgear is to be driven at increased speed. To change the speed of the motor 3, a series resistor 15 is also provided in the field circuit of the shunt exciter circuit 4, which is short-circuited by the auxiliary relay 7 on switching stage 1 at normal switching speed. If the switching speed is to be increased, this resistance is made effective in the excitation circuit of the motor.
With 9 and 9 dependency contacts of an alternating current auxiliary contactor 9 are designated, which is operated together with the reversing contactors, not shown, and on which the entire control of the switching mechanism is dependent. With 10 the poles of a power source are referred to, for example a collector battery, through which the energy for moving the switching mechanism is supplied. The reversing roller 11 is coupled to the master roller 1, through which the direction of travel of the train can be determined.
After switching on the reversing switch drum 11, corresponding to a desired direction of travel, the master drum 1 is moved into the position designated 111. The reversing contactors, through which the motors are connected to the taps of the step transformer, are switched on. In addition, the AC auxiliary contactor 9 is switched on after switching on the reversing contactor.
Now the reversing relay 6 picks up, whereby it is excited via the following circuit: positive pole of the power source 10-dependent contacts 9 a, 9b-excitation coil of the reversing relay 6-contacts a, b of the auxiliary control roller 2 contacts b, c of the master roller 1-contacts b, a of the reversing drum-M-negative pole of the power source 1Q.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
In addition, the auxiliary relay labeled 7 is switched on for the purpose of short-circuiting the resistor 8 in the armature electronic circuit of the switching mechanism drive motor 8 via the following circuit: Positive pole of the power source 10-contacts a, b, f, e of the AC auxiliary contactor 9-

Reversing drum 11-negative pole of power source 10.
In addition, the brake magnet 5 and the armature of the switching mechanism drive motor 3 are connected to voltage, u. betw. via the following circuits: positive pole contacts e, f of the auxiliary control roller 2 of the switching mechanism -excitation of the brake magnet 5-dependency contacts a, b of the cam switching roller Ü provided for the fine control of the switching mechanism or the contacts a, b of a current monitor labeled 13 as well as the Contacts c, d of the cam roller to the negative pole.
The armature circuit of the motor has the following course: Positive pole of the collective battery Contacts e, f of the auxiliary control drum 2 of the switching mechanism or contacts a, b-f, e of the auxiliary

turning roller 11-negative pole of the power source.
When switching stage III of the master roller is switched on, the switching mechanism drive motor 3 is connected to the full battery voltage so that it runs at high speed.
If the master roller is turned back to the switching stage 1J, the auxiliary relay marked 7 is switched off again. After switching off this relay, the armature current of the drive motor 3 takes the following course: Power source contacts a, b, f, e of the AC auxiliary contactor 9 or dependency contacts e, f of the control drum 2 armature of the auxiliary motor 3 dependency contacts a, b of the brake magnet 5- Resistor 8 contacts f7, b
EMI3.3
In addition to the armature voltage of the switching mechanism drive motor 3, as already noted, the excitation of the motor is also changed when the switching speed is to be increased.
At increased switching speed, two resistors 14, 15 are switched on in the excitation circuit, while at normal starting speed the resistor 15 is short-circuited. The following excitation circuit of the separately excited field winding is present on switching stage III at increased switching speed: positive pole contacts a, b of the alternating current holding device 9 contacts c, cl of the reversing relay 6 field winding 4 of the motor 3 resistors 14, 15 contacts e, f of the reversing relay 6-contacts a, b of the control roller 2-contacts b, c of the master roller 1-contacts b, a of the travel reversing roller negative pole.
After switching off the auxiliary relay 7, which takes place on the other switching stages of the master roller, the resistor 15 is short-circuited via the contacts a, b of the auxiliary relay 7.
It should also be noted that after switching off the switching mechanism drive motor 3, the drive is stopped by the brake 5. There is also short-circuit braking for motor 3. The resistor 8 is expediently switched so that it lies outside the short-circuit circuit closed via the auxiliary contacts a, c of the brake magnet.
Above all, the invention avoids the disadvantages mentioned in the introduction, which can arise as a result of too low a switching speed in the first switching stages as long as the vehicle has not yet started moving. But, in addition, other significant advantages can be achieved by the invention.
For example, the driver of the vehicle can at any time while driving, for example when an automatic machine has switched off the rear derailleur, quickly reconnect the motors to full voltage without unnecessary loss of time and speed, as is the case with known rear derailleurs. Furthermore, vehicles can be accelerated very quickly for purposes of maneuvering. This is sometimes necessary when a locomotive is shunting or moving wagons. In doing so, the acceleration path of the repelling locomotive must be made as small as possible, taking into account the length of the track length available for shunting purposes, because otherwise many unnecessary journeys by the locomotive are required.
Incidentally, the invention can be improved in this way with particular advantage. that in the case of a switching mechanism provided with fine stages, for example through between the taps of the stage transformer. tors switched on auxiliary reactors or auxiliary transformers can be achieved, the fine adjustment is made ineffective if the switching mechanism is to be started at increased speed. Is there a current monitor for monitoring the cause

made, which can be done by short-circuiting its contacts, which are switched, for example, into the armature circuit of the motor driving the switching mechanism.
In the case of a drive, by which masses of different sizes have to be accelerated, the switching mechanism can advantageously be designed in such a way that, on the one hand, the speed at the various switching stages is changed while maintaining a certain speed ratio, but on the other hand, the operator adjusts the switching speed according to that to be driven Can change mass. In the case of a switching mechanism, for example, in which resistors in the armature circuit are inevitably switched on depending on the switching stages, this can be done by changing the excitation of the drive motor to take into account the driven masses.
