Arrangement of brushes on electrical machines.

Arrangements are known for drawing current on commutators or slip rings of electrical machines in which the brush sliding on the commutator is guided in a box and is pressed against the commutator or slip ring surface by a spring. In order to avoid vibrations of the brush in the guide box, springs attached either to the brush or to the box are provided, which also press the brush against the box wall. The brush is pressed against the box wall, the surface of which is parallel to the axis of the electrical machine in the direction of the broad side. This arrangement was chosen because it was said that this best counteracts the brush vibrations caused by the commutator rotation, which run in a plane normal to the machine axis.

The invention relates to a new position of such brushes guided in a box on commutators or slip rings of electrical machines, which has the advantage that it is equally effective for both directions of rotation of the rotor of the machine. In addition, tests have shown that with the new arrangement compared to the known one described above, the vibrations of the brush in the box are significantly reduced, so that the current transfer between brush and commutator is also significantly more perfect. According to the invention, the brush is attached by the lateral springs to a brush

The whole arrangement of bristles is rotated 90 compared to the previous one.

The axis of the brush, along which it slides in the guide box, can either stand normally on the commutator or slip ring surface or form an acute angle with this surface. The latter arrangement in particular has proven to be advantageous.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Arrangement of the brushes on electrical machines, the brush pressed against the commutator or slip ring surface by a spring slides in a box and is pressed against the sliding surface by lateral springs, characterized in that the lateral springs push the brush against a sliding surface of the guide box that is substantially parallel to the brush grinding direction, z. B. includes an angle of 900 with the Masehinenachse.
