1bermostatischer Stromkreis schliesser, insbesondere fiir Feueralarmanlagen.

der Klotz j ! a hineinragt.

Overmostatic circuit closer, especially for fire alarm systems.
The invention relates to thermostatic circuit breakers, in particular for fire alarm systems.
In the known circuit closers of this type, the thermostatically influenced switch parts are either completely unprotected, so that they can be closed inadvertently by touch and also get dirty quickly, or they are isolated with the connection contacts for the lines, but are arranged in a protected housing. In the latter case, the monitoring and possible replacement of defective parts is very cumbersome, as you first have to open or unscrew the housing.
According to the invention, this disadvantage is eliminated by a special construction of the housing and special arrangement of the insulation plate carrying the switch parts. The switch serving as a circuit closer can be removed as a unit from the housing, which remains seated at its fastening point. While the switch parts are protected inside the housing, the connection contacts for the lines are easily accessible from the outside and can therefore easily be checked for good condition.
These advantages are achieved by a housing which, according to the invention, is designed so that its front side and ends are usually open, but are covered by a plate whose middle part covering the front side is perforated, while the ends of the plate are only bent laterally to complete the ends of the housing, and then bent outwards to form feet with which the housing or the like is attached to a wall, ceiling. The switch elements and connection contacts are located on both sides of an insulation plate which is easily detachably attached from the outside to a side wall of the housing.
To secure the connecting wires on the outside of the insulation plate, the clamping screws are provided with an inwardly conical disk, and a cavity in the inwardly projecting conical disk surface serves to accommodate the wire loop bent on the connecting wire.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing:
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the circuit breaker, Fig. 2 is a front view of the same with a part of the front wall broken away. Fig. 3 is a central longitudinal section, Fig. 4 is a cross section taken along line 4-4 of Fig. 3, and the like. The contact screw is shown before it is cut off, FIG. 5 shows the same view as FIG. 4, but with the contact screw cut off, FIG. 6 is a view of the metal strip which forms the front wall of the housing, and FIG. 7 shows the Pole terminal according to the invention.
The housing of the thermostatic circuit closer consists of a sheet metal body 1 which is U-shaped in cross section and has a rear wall 2 and side walls 3, while the ends and the front are open. The free longitudinal edges of the walls 3 are provided with V-shaped flanges 4 which protrude inwards and hold the front wall in position, which is made from a sheet metal strip 5, which is shown in FIG. This sheet metal strip 5, inserted between the V-shaped flanges 4, and the ends of this sheet metal strip 5 protruding from the sheet metal body 1 are then bent at right angles in order to close the ends of the housing, as shown at 6.
The outermost ends 7 of the sheet metal strip are then bent outwards at right angles, so that feet are created with the aid of which the housing can be attached to the ceiling of a room or at another location. The middle part of the plate 5, which forms the front wall of the housing, is provided with ventilation holes 8.

The contact plate J.'3 is held in position by screws 16 and 17, while the contact plate 14 and the block 15 are fastened by screws 18 and 19. The screws 1ì and 19 are provided with locking nuts 21 at their outer ends, and between the locking nut and the

Provide a screw slot so that you can adjust the screw. This head end of the screw is cut off after the adjustment of the screw, so that the end of the screw is flush with the contact plate 1.1. so that afterwards the setting of the screw cannot be changed by untrained persons.
The pointed end 22 of the screw lies in the path of the movable end of the bimetallic strip. the latter bending due to heat. The end of the insulation plate 11 is fastened to the housing wall 3 by means of screws 25, and the middle part of the strip 11 is fastened to the web 10 by means of a screw 26.
As can be seen from the above, all current-carrying parts are attached to a single insulation plate 11, which in turn is removably seated on the wall 3. The contact screw 16 and the head of the pole terminal 17 lie in one slot 9, while the block 15 protrudes through the other slot 9.

the block j! a protrudes. When the thermostatic circuit closer is in use, i. H. if it is attached to the ceiling of a room by means of the feet 7, for example, then the housing is at a distance from the ceiling so that any hot air rising from below or otherwise arising in the room can wash around the circuit breaker from all sides. In this position, the pole terminals are also at a sufficiently large distance from the ceiling so that they are extremely easily accessible and can be loosened and tightened.
The perforated front wall 5 protrudes downwards so that any warm air coming from below can easily pass through. so that the bimetal strip is quickly deflected when heated sufficiently. The live parts are not only insulated from the wall, but also from the housing. so that no short circuits, current leads or electric saws can occur if people accidentally come into contact with the housing. The parts of the thermostatic switch are arranged in such a way that the insulation plate comes to rest on edge, so that it is better protected against dust that can collect on the same, and there is no danger. that no electrical connection is achieved if the strip 2. 3 bends.
The washers 20 and the clamping nuts 21 1 of the pole terminal have a special construction. As FIG. 7 shows, each washer 20 consists of a conical body which is provided with a conical base 29. that protrudes inwards and is concentric to the body. The conical base is provided with an opening for the screw to pass through and the clamping nut is provided with a part 30. which is beveled at the bottom in order to be able to enter the conical base 29. When attaching the lead wire, the end of the same is provided with an eyelet, and the eyelet is put on the screw and then the clamp nut is tightened.
When tightening the nut 21, the part 30 of the same presses the eyelet of the wire into the base 29 so that it is between

As a result, the washer moves apart in a diametrical direction so that it is put under tension. which results in an extremely secure attachment of the wire. The interconnected parts are thus protected against any unintentional loosening until you unscrew the nut yourself.
The pole terminal with the peculiar washer 2n can also be used for other electrical devices.
