hin und her gehenden Rolle 24.

Method and device for the wet treatment of fabrics.
The invention relates to the method known per se for washing and bleaching fabrics and the like. Like. In which the treatment of the fabric takes place in a wound state. For this purpose, the fabric is wound onto a sleeve or drum provided with holes under uniform tension, so that the fabric forms a solid but liquid-permeable mass on the drum. According to the invention, the fabric is moved back and forth during winding in a direction transverse to the winding direction, so that the selvedges do not come to lie on top of one another, but rather cross one another. This avoids thickening at the ends of the roll, which cause an uneven effect of the wet treatment.
Before the tissue is wound onto the cylinder, it is passed through or over a moistening device. This is particularly important if the fabric mentioned partially contains rayon threads, because this prevents the fabric from shrinking when it is subjected to the wet treatment after being wound onto the cylinder.
The drawing shows the device for winding the fabric onto a cylinder.
They show: Fig. 1 a front view of a rewinder; Fig. 2 an end view, partly in section.
The actual wet treatment of the fabric wound on the cylinder is carried out in a container in a known manner.
In the drawing, 1 denotes the side frames or cheeks with bearings 2 for the shaft journals of a friction drum 3. A shaft 4 is provided parallel to the axis of the drum, on which swing arms 6 are rotatably arranged, which are provided with open-top bearings 6 at their outer ends in which a shaft 7 of a cylinder 8 provided with flanges 9 runs; this cylinder carries a perforated drum, the perforations of which extend over the entire surface. Suitable means, not illustrated, are provided for rotating the friction drum at the desired speed. At the beginning of the winding process, the drum of the cylinder 8 rests on the surface of the drum 3 and is set in rotation by friction.
Perforated cylinders and winders of the type described are known for the dyeing and bleaching of warp yarns and are very suitable for the purposes of the invention.
The driven shaft 10 is mounted in bearings in the side frames 1 and carries a roller 11 which is provided with a groove 12. A pin 13 slidably engages in this groove 12 and is fastened in a cranked holder 14 which is mounted on a bearing that is longitudinally movable on the axis 4 by means of a bolt 15

a slot of the extension 18 of a crossbar 19 engages. This crossbar 19 is hinged to the lower ends of two-armed lever 20 mounted in the frame at 21. The upper ends of the levers 20 are forked and form upwardly open bearings 22 for receiving the journals of a shaft 23 of a flexible roller 24 made of wood. This roller 24 is used to move the fabric back and forth. The tissue is fed to the roll from a soaking roll onto which the tissue has been previously wound.
If the fabric contains rayon threads or if it is otherwise composed of threads which shrink unevenly when wet, the fabric is passed through a moistening device before it reaches the roller 24. The moistening device consists of a container 25 which, for. B. is filled with water. The fabric runs first over a guide roller 26, then under one

reciprocating roll 24.
A spur gear 30 is keyed onto the shaft 29 of the friction drum and engages in a pinion 31 keyed onto the shaft 10.
In operation, the cylinder 8 is placed in the swing arms 5 and rests with its drum on the outer surface of the drum 3. When this is rotated, the cylinder rotates with it and the fabric x, which runs over the roller 24 going back and forth, is wound on it at a constant speed and with constant tension. The grooved drum is rotated at the same time and the roller 24 receives a reciprocating movement, the fabric being wound onto the cylinder 8 with a reciprocating movement and thereby preventing the selvedges of the fabric from coming to rest on top of one another.
With the correct setting of the reciprocating roller 24 and its drive parts, the intersection of the edges takes place exactly on the width of the cylinder drum between the flanges 9, the edges of a full fabric wrap lie against these flanges, so that the entire roll is finally filled with liquid can be treated under pressure.

air treated. For this purpose, the liquid is guided through the perforations into the cylinder 8 and thereafter the roll of fabric, the direction of the liquid flow being reversed from time to time.
Since the two gears 30 and 31 are of the same size, one revolution of the friction drum 3 corresponds to a full back and forth movement of the roller 24. The structural details can be different. The grooved drum H can, for. B. be wedged on the end of their shaft 10 outside a side frame 1 and in this position can operate a lever 20 which is attached to one end of the shaft 23 of the reciprocating roller 24, while the other end of this shaft is slidable in a closed warehouse is arranged.
The moistening roller 8? Instead of being immersed in liquid, the tissue x runs over the soaked roller and comes into contact with it.
