Verwendung finden.

For example, in addition to phenol itself, cresol, naphthol or negatively substituted phenols, e.g. B. the chlorophenols can be used.
The invention also extends to the process for the preparation of aromatic mercury compounds containing products, which consists in that one brings together in the presence of finely divided solid substances queek silver compounds and those bodies which together are able to form aromatic queek silver compounds, the conditions required for this, of course, being observed will.
This reaction is normally carried out in the presence of an aqueous medium, from which the reaction product is separated off by filtration and the mass filtered off is subjected to a drying and pulverization process.
The invention is to be explained in more detail using the following exemplary embodiments:
Example 1: 500 parts of hydrated lime are suspended in 2000 parts of water, and a solution of 50 parts of queek silver acetate is added to this with thorough stirring. The mercury oxide precipitated by the hydrated lime is deposited evenly on the surface of the lime particles. 30 parts of orthochlorophenol are then added and the suspension is heated to about 800 ° C. for 5 hours. The yellowish color of the mercury oxide gradually disappears as a result of the binding of white ortho-chlorophenol-queeksilver oxide, which is converted into its calcium salt. The reaction

silver sulfide takes place more. The solid precipitate is then filtered off, dried and powdered.
The new product contains about 6-7% of the potassium salt of chlorophenol queek silver. It adheres extremely well to seeds and leaves and gives a completely colloidal suspension in water.
Example 2: 50 parts of mercury acetate are dissolved in 1500 parts of water and 500 parts of kaolin are added to this solution with stirring. After adding a solution of. 23 parts of ortho-nitrophenol sodium in 150 parts of water are heated to 80 ° C. for about 4 hours. The reaction is ended when the addition of sodium sulfate to a sample removed no longer results in the formation of black mercury sulfide. After cooling, the precipitate is filtered off, dried and ground to a fine powder.
Example 3: To a solution of 75 parts of mercuric chloride in 1500 parts of water, 500 parts of infusorial earth are added with stirring. The mercury salt is then converted into quekilver oxide by adding a 20% solution of sodium hydroxide until a sample on litmus paper shows a weakly alkaline reaction. Then 38 parts of orthochlorophenol are added and the mixture is heated to 800 ° C. for about 4 hours or until a sample taken with a sodium sulphide solution no longer shows the formation of black queek silver sulfide. After cooling, the precipitate is filtered off, dried and powdered.
Example 4: 50 parts of mercury acetate are dissolved in a suspension of 500 parts of powdered charcoal in 2000 parts of water and 23 parts of beta-naphthol are added with thorough stirring.
The mixture is heated to 75 ° C. for approximately 3 hours after which time all of the mercury acetate is converted to beta-naphthol-mercury acetate. After cooling, the precipitate is filtered off, dried and powdered.
If one proceeds in the manner described in the preceding examples, one obtains hydrated lime, kaolin, infusor earth or charcoal with a thin coating or a fine skin of an organic mercury compound which is virtually insoluble in water. Instead of the inert substances mentioned above, barium sulfate, calcium phosphate, etc. can also be used, for example.
