Reversiervorrichtung an Jacquardmaschinen.

Reversing device on jacquard machines.
The invention relates to reversing devices for jacquard machines in which, according to the pattern, the direction of movement (rotation) of the cylinder is automatically changed.
EMI1.1
When the first card comes back onto the cylinder, its direction of rotation is reversed again - also by means of a slug cube that corresponds exactly to that on the last card and is only located on the other side.
The drawing shows in Fig. 1 the overall arrangement of the reversing device, in Fig. 2 the dice and its attachment to the card.
In the drawing the reversing device is shown in its usual position, i. H. the cylinder moves so that the cards are fed from above. If the card with the die hits the cylinder, the striking arm B is knocked back (by the bolt A), the lever C is turned backwards and the lever D is turned downwards. The turning hook is connected to the lever D by the adjusting screw F and the spring E and is rotated about its axis by the downward movement of the lever D so that the lower hook comes into contact with the cylinder lantern and now gives the cylinder the countermovement.
As soon as the target arm B is kicked back, the locking lever K falls in front of the locking block H and thereby holds the mechanism in the reversing position.
If the first card, which carries the sehlag cube at the other end, comes back onto the cylinder, the striking arm Bi is knocked back and lifts the locking lever K out of its locked position by means of the intermediate lever L, the locking block H is free and the changing mechanism and with this the The reversing hook is brought back into its old position by the spring 11, and the cylinder is thus restored to its original direction of rotation.
The card frames are best made of thin sheet steel and the cube, which is attached to the frame with a screw, is made of steel.
The side length of the cube is best 10 mm, since the weight of the frame and cube in this case is not so great that the card strings would be stretched too much, thereby increasing the distance between the individual cards. The push arms B and Bi are provided at the end with firing pins A and Al, which can easily be replaced if they are very worn. With the adjusting nut G and the adjusting screw F, the spring B can always easily be kept in the correct tension. The locking block H can also be precisely readjusted should this be necessary.

block is attached or the individual parts are kept exactly in their movement direction.
The device can be attached to any jacquard machine and works completely automatically and without any power consumption. Since it is only activated by the frame with the rope bag cubes, non-symmetrical, i.e. H. such patterns are woven on the chairs that reversing the cylinder is out of the question. In the known reversing devices, the turning movement of the card cylinder is reversed by a system of auxiliary needles, and reversing can take place from any card, just as in the present device. In the device according to the invention, however, the reversing is not brought about by the card itself, but rather by the dice attached to a card frame and inserted into the card.
The main advantage of the device according to the invention is that a too early or too late due to incorrect hitting of the cards during reversing is avoided and that the mechanism is completely independent of the needles of the jacquard machine. The auxiliary pins in the American system can get stuck with the slightest neglect and either cause the reversal in the wrong place or not at all. This can also be the case if the cards are somehow damaged in the places where the auxiliary needles catch.
Furthermore, the die mechanism can easily be attached to any existing chair without the need for any changes to the jacquard mechanism.
In the known system, the needles that are available for the reversing mechanism are set in motion by each card, with the exception of the first and last, which causes a constant stress on the springs, while with the die mechanism the whole mechanism from one reversing to the other is kept completely at rest.
The device according to the invention is not only more durable in construction than the American system, but it also works with significantly greater accuracy.
