Man muss das Datum, an welchem mit den Gesprächen begonnen wurde, wissen, die Anzahl der Tage während der zu kontrollierenden Zeit berechnen, dann auf Grund der abgelesenen Stunden und Minuten und der täglich zulässigen Gesprächszeit berechnen, ob man den Bestimmungen des Fernsprechamtes entsprochen hat.
Die Erfindung bezweckt, diesen umständlichen Vorgang zu ersparen.
Der Apparat ist eine einer gewöhnlichen Weckeruhr ähnlich gebaute Uhr, die auf oder neben dem Fernsprechapparat montiert oder in dem Apparat eingebaut wird. Das Gangwerk dieser Uhr wird durch einen Hebel, der mit dem Fernsprechapparat in Verbindung steht, normalerweise arretiert und erst durch Abheben des Hörers freigemacht, so dass die Uhr nur während des Gespräches im Gange ist. Die Uhr hat einen grossen und einen kleinen Zeiger, deren Umlaufzahlen in einem bestimmten, von der täglichen Gesprächszeit abhängigen Verhältnis zueinander stehen. verhältnis 1 : 12. Der kleine Zeiger wird dann auf jenen Tag, an welchem das Gespräch beginnt (z. B. auf den 4. ), eingestellt.
Wenn nun der grosse Zeiger um 24 Minuten vorrückt, so wird der kleine Zeiger (Datumzeiger) um einen Tag vorrücken (auf den 5.). Würde man sich am 14. des Monates orientieren wollen, so braucht nur der Stand des Datumzeigers betrachtet zu werden. Zeigt dieser ebenfalls auf den 14., so wurde die erlaubte Gesprächszeit eingehalten ; zeigt er aber bereits den 16. an, so heisst dies, dass man zweimal 24 Minuten zu viel gesprochen hat.
