Method of decorating wooden objects with stone inlays.
The present invention aims to decorate wooden objects of all kinds with stone inlays (especially marble). The procedure used here is as follows:
On the object of any type of wood, recesses are made mechanically or chemically according to given designs. The recesses obtained in this way are now partially filled with a kind of putty, such as one made of cement lime, glue or gelatin and powdered marble, and the putty mass, which is still in a soft state, becomes marble pieces whose shape and size are completely different from that of the recesses , pressed in.
The still soft respectively. Gelatinous putty mass now partially penetrates into the spaces between the pieces of marble and fills the indentations with them. After the mass has solidified and the surface has been appropriately trimmed (sanding, polishing, etc.), the marble surfaces-reaching deposits can only be forcibly, e.g. B. can be removed with a chisel.
The mentioned putty has the property due to the addition of glue or gelatin. like wood, absorbing moisture and expanding or contracting with it, depending on the weather conditions, without losing its binding force.
This makes it impossible for the marble or marble mazo to jump off.
Even if the marble pieces are omitted, the recesses can only be filled with crushed (powdered) marble and putty. Other types of stone can also be substituted for marble.
