  Weeder.

The invention relates to a weeding device using knife-comb-like cutting tongues and consists in that knife edges that are ground to size in the working direction of the device are connected upstream between the cutting tongues.

The advantage of this device over the previously known is that the upstream knife edges after the tool has been hewn into the ground and the subsequent pull on the handle of the tool first cut off the horizontal or inclined roots of the weeds and the soil is loosened by this harrowing , whereupon the partially uprooted weeds are either clamped and torn out by the cutting tongues attached to the device behind the upstream knife edges, or if there is still sufficient adhesion in the ground.

In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the diagram.
 EMI1.1
Teeth are preceded by knife edges n, the plane of which is perpendicular to that of the knife comb m and which are sharpened on their edge in the working direction from the lying edge at k. These cutting edges are either forged in one piece from the base plate g or they are interchangeably connected to the latter by screws or the like.

The cutting edges cut through the transverse roots of the weeds when furrowing the soil and at the same time loosen the soil, while the knife ka behind it clamps the weed trunk in the wedge angle between two adjacent teeth m1 and tears it out depending on how it adheres to the soil or cut off.
