are located in it. that the pile thread is frayed. on the other hand, an immediate braking of the cut thread is not guaranteed. The spring is carried along by the bevel in the direction of movement and, after the pile thread has been cut, snaps back into its rest position by a few millimeters, so that the cut thread is not held at the point at which it was cut.
Furthermore, a pile thread guide has been proposed in which a leaf spring is pressed against a guide surface which is directed obliquely downward in the direction of movement of the thread. The use of such a narrow leaf spring for pressing the thread also causes the thread end to fray.
These dregs are eliminated by the subject matter of the invention, which is illustrated in an exemplary embodiment on the drawing in a longitudinal section.
According to the invention, an upwardly directed tongue C is arranged below an area A for guiding the pile thread B. which is held against the guide surface-4 by the spring D. The mounting of the resilient tongue is outside the center plane in such a way that the dead weight

The pile thread passes through with as little friction as possible and with as little protection as possible for its structure.
Furthermore, through: 'the special arrangement and storage of the tongue is achieved. that when the thread is cut, the tongue immediately holds the thread in its position by resting against the inclined guide surface and also prevents the thread from snapping back. By mounting the tongue outside of its central plane, when the tongue swings under the action of the spring, the tongue edge resting on the pile thread will move in a path that rises towards the guide surface.
This trajectory also prevents the pile thread from fraying at the moment it is held.
