Schaltet man z.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Device for selective detection of a line section of a high-voltage line connecting different control panels with an earth fault.
It is well known that a predominantly capacitive current, the earth fault current or, if the network has inductive earth protection, flows through the fault point in a high-voltage network that causes the earth fault. the residual earth fault current, which in the case of resonance tuning of the earth inductance still contains the watt and harmonic components of the earth fault current.
The harmonic component of the earth fault current or the earth fault residual current is now suitable for this. to identify the sick head, since B. by pointer or acoustic instruments that more
EMI1.1
Telephone connected in series to the power line indicate the faulty line by sound and volume. However, this selective detection is initially only possible in the case of lines or pointer lines that are fed from one side, because line sections that are to a certain extent parallel are compared here.
However, if a line connects different control centers and the task is to identify in which line section of this line the fault is located, then it is a matter of comparing line sections that are fed on both sides and lying one behind the other, and selective detection with the aids described above is not enough possible. The harmonic current flowing through the fault location flows partly to one and partly to the other control center, so there is no point in the connecting line where the instrument measuring the harmonics, e.g. B. a telephone. would not respond.
But if harmonics are present everywhere, then this means of determining the diseased line section fails. The subject of the invention is now a device for the selective detection of an earth fault line section of a high voltage line connecting different centers, in which devices are to be provided which measure the harmonic currents of the earth fault current flowing through the line and devices through which the distribution of the harmonic currents the earth fault current can be changed on the various control panels to determine the fault location. If you switch z.
B. at the points at which the line sections meet short-circuited choke coils in the line, the inductive resistance of the line part leading to one control center can be increased considerably by opening the short circuit compared to the resistance of the line part leading to the other control center, especially for the harmonic currents.
As long as the short circuit is open, the harmonic current will mainly only flow to one central unit. If, however, the choke is short-circuited again, as is the case in normal operation of the network, then the other conditions of the system are decisive for the distribution of the harmonic currents to the various centers. How the selective detection of the diseased line section works. will now be explained in more detail using the exemplary embodiment of the figure. A and B represent control centers which are electrically connected to one another by the lines R S T. In the event of an earth fault z.
B. detected the presence of a ground fault on the handset HA in control center A. It appears
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
by using the switching device VA that of the three phases R S T z. B. Phase R has a ground fault because the telephone indicates it through the volume.
In order to determine whether the fault is in the line section.-C or in the line section C-B-, the short circuit of the choke D in series with the mains line in C is passed.
EMI2.1
flowed in approximately equal parts, the inductive resistance of the path C-B is greatly increased by the effect of the choke, especially for the harmonic currents, so that they close almost exclusively via the control center A. The telephone at A will therefore sound louder and thus indicate that the point of error is between C and.
One becomes the other way round
EMI2.2
which the distribution of the harmonic currents of the earth fault current to the two control centers A and B can be changed, in combination with devices that measure the harmonic currents, the line section that is in the earth fault can be determined.
Since the chokes connected between the line sections are in
Short circuit work, they do not interfere with normal operation in any way. They are expediently built like a two-winding transformer, the secondary winding of which is short-circuited or opened. Opening and closing can be initiated by telephone from control centers A and B. A periodic procedure can also be agreed here so that 'z. B. to determine the point of failure, the throttle is alternately closed every 20 seconds and then kept open for five seconds. The device can also be used with meshed and ring networks, generally wherever a network is fed by several control centers.
