Ölgefäss für Transformatoren und Schalter.
EMI1.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Oil compartment for transformers and switches.
EMI1.1
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The invention consists in an oil container for transformers and switches, in which a mixture of copper and chlorammonium is produced in equimolecular amounts and a small amount of water is added to avoid explosive gas mixtures. A neutral material, such as e.g. B. kieselguhr, a catalyst such. B. active carbon and a substance such. B. quenched calcium chloride can be introduced.
Active carbon can be used instead of the kieselguhr catalyst. One of the primary purposes of the catalyst is to act as a release agent while preventing the reactive mixture from caking together.
When gas is passed over and through the surface of the material, the gas completely reacts with the top layers of the mixture, resulting in a sharply defined demarcation line that extends across the container between the discolored layer of exhausted material and the effective material extends. As the gas passes through, the layer of exhausted material gradually increases, while a sharp line of demarcation is constantly maintained between the exhausted and the still active material.
Various changes can, of course, be made in the composition and method of manufacture of the material. Instead of chlorammonium can, for. B. other ammonium salts such as the sulfur or fluorine salts can be used. The inactive or neutral material can be inorganic or organic, such as. B. cork dust, sawdust, asbestos or other materials that have the desired characteristics. The active carbon can be omitted if desired.
However, there is some evidence that both the neutral material and the active carbon enhance the effect of the reaction. The carbon can have any of its known forms, such as. B. soot, coke dust, active charcoal or very finely divided graphite. The ratio of the components of the mixture can be changed within wide limits without impairing the effect.
It is known per se in chemistry that a mixture of copper and ammonium compounds
