Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Procedure for binding books.
The invention relates to a method for binding books, brochures and the like. Like., The individual sheets are connected simply by means of an adhesive applied to the back, that is, without stapling. When folded sheets were combined in this way, incisions were made in individual places to allow the adhesive to get to the inner sheets, or the fold was cut away and then the arch was roughened. The individual incisions have the disadvantage that the inner sheets hold only very imperfectly and come out easily, while cutting off the fold and subsequent roughening was cumbersome and often inadequate work because the roughening was not carried out with the necessary care.
According to the invention, the stack is now on the back with a roughening tool, for. B. a rasp, a milling cutter and. Like. Edited until the fold is removed and the stack consists of individual sheets. This guarantees that the sheets are well roughened so that a tough and firm adhesive applied afterwards can create a secure and permanent connection between the individual sheets of the book.
Under books and Like. Differing from blocks or similar products, which consist of a stack of loose and relatively easily tearable sheets, such stacks of printed or unprinted sheets are to be understood that are firmly and permanently connected to each other.
